RECOMNDATIONS OF THE AD HOC COMMITTEE
COMMITTEE OF COUNCIL
It is recommended that the Committee of Council be composed as
follows
Chairmen : President of the Council
Membership : the two Vice-Presidents
the Chairmen of the Finance Committee
the Chairman of the Scientific Policy Committee
two Members of the Council : France and Netherlands
SCIENTIFIC POLICY COMMITTEE
Recommendations
FIWI
The Ohariman and Members of this Committee should
normally serve for a period of three years.
The selection of members should be based primarily on
personal scientific grounds, and not restricted to
Council delegates.
In order to ensure the rotation of membership, half
the menbers should be appointed for two years.
The following composition of the Scientific Policy Committee
is recommended

Prof. P, Scherrer
Prof. H. Alfvén
Prof, L, Leprince·Ringuet
Prof, P.S. Blackett

FINANCE COMMITTEE
The previous Council has already recommended the a.mendmcn’c of
the Fj.n¤.n<:ia.l}§>»1·0’c0c0l Of the Convention 1:0 enable all Member States'
to be represented on the Financial Coxmnittce,
It is recormnencicd that the present Ccuncil amend in the above
sense the Financial Protocol as p1r·0v;i.&gi]_f'0x· in Article X of the
Convention § 5.
It is recomended that Mr. J , WILLEMS be appointed Chairman 0f`
the Finzmce Committee,
