PAEDIATRIC RESPIROLOGIST Full time LONDON HEALTH SCIENCES CENTRE The Department of Paediatrics, Children's Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre, Western University, London Ontario, Canada, is seeking 2 fully certified Paediatric Respirologists to join the section of Paediatric Respirology. The successful candidates will hold a full time clinical academic appointment; salary and rank will be determined by experience and qualifications at the time of appointment. Candidates must hold an MD or equivalent and be eligible for licensing in the Province of Ontario. Specialist certification in Paediatrics through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent is required. A plan to establish a paediatric sleep lab has received the full support of the department, and expertise in paediatric sleep would be a definite asset. Assistance will be available for immigration and licensing requirements, if applicable. Applicants should have fluent written and oral communication skills in English. Children's Hospital is a tertiary care center between Toronto and Winnipeg, serving a population of over 500,000 children and youth. The Respirology Program provides care to children with the full spectrum of airway and lung disorders, and includes a multidisciplinary cystic fibrosis clinic, asthma clinic, a collaborative Paediatric Airway Centre and a paediatric flexible bronchoscopy program. The Respirology Program is very active in undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing medical education. The Department of Paediatrics in London has 51 full time academic physicians, 6 basic scientists and 10 community physicians providing a full array of Paediatric sub-specialty services. Children's Hospital has 64 general paediatric beds, 12 intensive care beds, 42 neonatal beds and a very active emergency department. Opportunities exist for clinical and basic science research including epidemiological studies with access to population level health administrative databases through the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences (ICES), cystic fibrosis multi-centre clinical research, and cross-disciplinary research with ENT, for example.
