William Marrion Branham: Sins of the Fathers

William Marrion Branham: Sins of the Fathers William Marrion Branham came from the family tree of an illegitimate child. In the Word of God, we find that the Blood of God is sufficient for all, so for most Christians, this is not a problem. For William Branham, however, this was a big problem. Branham mixed Old Covenant Law with New Covenant Grace, claiming that Christ came to “magnify the Law.” The Law regarding the sins of the fathers was no exception. To get a little background to show that the age that we're living in and picked it up last night that a-‐-‐a bastard born child, illegitimate child, could not in-‐-‐even come into the congregation of the Lord for fourteen generations. That would be four hundred years, forty years to a generation. 58-‐0928M THE.BAPTISM.OF THE.HOLY.SPIRIT And how the sins of the people would be visited... We went back in Deuteronomy and showed that a illegitimate child, bastard child, could not even enter the congregation of the Lord for fourteen generations. That was under the law, and Christ come to magnify the law. How much more is it now? 58-‐0928E THE.SERPENT'S.SEED p34, Legend of the Fall, Peter Duyzer
Branham struggled with this concept all of his life. If Christ came to magnify the Law instead of fulfill the Covenant, than his own life would not be spared because of the sins of his fathers. The only way to overcome this would be to lift his status to divine by comparing himself to Jesus Christ. So Branham called Jesus Christ a bastard. And that he was a born, in other words, a bastard child, born by a father which... by a mother that was... 50-‐0115 BELIEVEST.THOU.THIS Branham knew this was a harsh word. It was no mistake that he called Jesus Christ a bastard; Branham had studied the Bible and knew that God considered those who are not His own “bastard children.” Every son that cometh to God must be first chastened, purged. Is that right? If you cannot stand chastisement of the Lord, then you become a bastard, or a illegitimate child. 52-‐0718 FOR.HIM.WILL.I.ACCEPT The Bible said if we can't stand the trials and testing, then we become the legitimate children-‐-‐illegitimate. "Bastard children," the Bible calls it 57-‐0612 JEHOVAH.JIREH Though not all demoninations spawned from the Catholic Church, Branham considered the other denominations “bastards.” Instead of the invisible Body of Christ, Branham considered them to be severed extremities. And in this Thyatirean Church age she is a DOMINATING FEMALE. She is Mystery Babylon. She is the great whore. She is Jezebel the false prophetess. WHY? Because the true female is submissive to God. Christ is her head. She has no word but His, no thoughts but His, no leadership but His. But what about this church? She has cast out the Word, destroyed the Bibles and worthy essays of the godly. She has slain those who would preach the truth. She has taken over kings, princes and nations-‐-‐ controls armies and insists that she is the true body of Christ and that her popes are the vicars of Christ. She is entirely seduced by the devil until she in turn has become the seducer of others. She is the bride of Satan and has produced his bastard-‐child religions. THYATIREAN.CHURCH. Thankfully, Branham eventually realized that the blood of Christ was sufficient. His doctrine changed, which supported his own salvation. Just think of that. A innocent baby, its great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandchildren, just think, the baby's great, great, great, ten great grandchildren could not even come in the congregation of God. That's right. But you see, there was nothing there strong enough to forgive that sin. The blood of the Old Testament did not forgive sins; it covered sins. But the Blood of Jesus Christ divorces it. That's different now. When the Blood of Jesus Christ comes in, it's the different. 64-‐0823E QUESTIONS.AND.ANSWERS So what changed Branham’s mind on his teaching?
