Instructions for “IBM Channel Rep Plus”
If you are added to the Opportunity Sales Team
If a Business Partner includes you on the opportunity Sales Team in the “IBM Channel Rep
Plus” responsibility:





Limit your updates to Sales Stage progression using odds
Do not create opportunities in Global Partner Portal on behalf of the Business
Partner
Do not update Software Value Incentive (SVI), Bid Certification Center (BCC), or
Incentive opportunities
Ensure updates being made are with the Business Partner’s consent
Do not update the organization of the Opportunity
How to create a Global Partner Portal “IBM Channel Rep Plus” request in the
Registration Database (RDB)
IBM Channel Rep Plus access in Global Partner Portal will allow you to be added to
opportunity sales teams by Business Partners. You will only have access to opportunities
which business partners have explicitly added you to. You will have the ability to modify
certain data on these opportunities.
Follow the instructions below to create and submit an RDB request to get access to Partner
Manager as an IBM Channel Rep Plus.
If the RDB database is not already located on your Lotus Notes Workspace, follow the
instructions located at Step 2 on the Global Partner Portal Registration page:

1) Open the RDB database. Click Create Request at the top of the screen and select
GPP/PRM Siebel.
Note: make sure you have your IBM employee number and country code ready.
2) Enter your CNUM and click Next. The CNUM is the combination of the IBM employee
number and the country code.
3) Verify your data and click Next again.
4) Click Select in the Business unit line and then select OM.
(Or if you work for SVI, select SVI.) Click OK within the same applet.
If you currently DO NOT have access to Global Partner Portal, please follow
instructions 5a – 18a starting below.
If you currently DO have access to Global Partner Portal as an IBM Channel Rep,
please follow instructions 5b – 23b starting on page 7.
5a) If you currently do not have access to Global Partner Portal, click Select in the Request
Type line and then select Register New GPP/PRM Siebel User / Reinstate Access. Click
OK.
6a). Click the OK button, the RDB request form will display.
7a) Scroll down to the ‘GPP/PRM Siebel-Defined Job Role/Responsibility/Organization’
section. Click New in the Job Role line.
8a) Click Select, and then select OM IBM Channel Rep Plus ( SVI IBM Channel Rep Plus
if you selected SVI as Business Unit at point 4 ). Click OK within the Select Job Role applet.
9a) Click OK, you will return to the main form.
10a) Click New in the Org line.
11a) Click Select, you will see only one value. Click OK.
12a) Click Select in the Organization line.
13a) Select the Organization that corresponds to your IMT Organization. Example: a user
who supports Business Partners in Great Britain will select 3K (United Kingdom and Ireland),
and a user who supports Business Partners in Peru will select 8S. Click OK.
Note: Do not select your Country organization as this will not allow you to be added to
opportunities by Business Partners.
14a) Click OK, you will return to the main form.
15a) Scroll down to the Primary Position section. Click Select.
16a) Select the Primary Position record and click OK.
17a) Scroll down to the ‘Reason for Restricted Roles/Queues/Orgs’ section. Provide a
reason why you requested access to Partner Manager.
18a) Go back to the top of the form and click Submit. When all approvals are granted,
your request will be processed. You will be notified when complete.

If you currently DO have access to Global Partner Portal as an IBM Channel Rep,
please follow instructions 5b – 23b below for requesting access.
5b) If you currently do have access to Global Partner Portal, click Select in the Request
Type line and then select Update User Registration and click OK.
6b) The Request Information tab is displayed again. Click Next, the Update User
Registration tab will display.
7b) On the Update User Registration tab, beside the question 'Does this user’s
responsibility / job role need to change (add or delete)?' click Select.
8b) Click Yes and then click the OK button. You are taken back to the Update User
Registration tab.
9b). Click the OK button, and the RDB request form will display.
10b) Scroll down until you reach the ‘Reason for Change’ section. Click the arrow on the
drop down box and select Other, and then click OK.
11b) Specify the reason for the change.
12b) In the ‘GPP/PRM Siebel-Defined Job Role/Responsibility/Organization’ section, click
Select in the Job Role(s) to remove the line.
13b) In the Select Visibility Information pop-up, click Select on the GPP/PRM Siebel job role
line.
14b) Click Select and then choose OM IBM Channel Rep (SVI IBM Channel Rep if you
selected SVI as the Business Unit at point 4 ). Click OK within the Select Job Role applet.
15b) Click OK on the Visibility Information pop-up.
16b) Click New in the Job role(s) to add line. The Select Visibility Information pop-up will be
displayed.
17b) Click Select and then choose OM IBM Channel Rep Plus ( SVI IBM Channel Rep
Plus if you selected SVI as Business Unit at point 4 ). Click OK within the Select Job Role
applet.
18b) Click OK on the Select Visibility Information pop-up.
19b) Click OK. You will return to the main form. Click Select on the New Primary job role.
20b) Click Select again. In the Select New Primary Job Role / Responsibility pop-up,
select OM IBM Channel Rep Plus (click on SVI IBM Channel Rep Plus if you selected
Business Unit = SVI in step 4), and then click OK.
21b) You will be returned to the Select Visibility Information pop-up. Click the OK button.
22b) In the ‘Reason for Restricted Roles/Queues/Orgs’ section, provide a reason why you
requesting the access change.
23b) Go back to the top of the form and click Submit. When all approvals are granted your
request will be processed. You will be notified when complete.
