APPRENTICESHIP
HOW TO APPLY
To be considered for an apprenticeship at Jamison Shaw Hairdressers you
must submit a written essay, a photo essay, a resume and a completed
employment application.
Applicants who have attended beauty school will also need to arrange to
bring in a model on which to demonstrate a color and haircut service.
WRITTEN ESSAY
Written essay should be 250 words or less on one of the following subjects:
Describe a life changing experience that influenced
you to become a hairdresser.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
What impact does the media and the fashion world
have on the hair industry?
What makes you different from the average beauty
school student?
Learn to be a Licensed Hairdresser through our Apprentice Program.
If you’re already a Licensed Hairdresser or Beauty School Graduate greatly
improve your skills and significantly improve your earning potential.
Take full advantage of our Internationally renowned Advanced Training
Academy, Jamison Shaw Advanced Hairdressing Systems, which has trained
thousands of students around the world in our extraordinary technique.
Learn at your own pace in our dedicated weekly classes and through our
personalized mentoring program that’s custom tailored to ensure your success.
Participate in photo shoots around the globe, including New York, L.A.,
Miami, London, Paris and Milan.
As the Official Sponsors of our city’s Professional Sports Teams’
Cheerleaders, participate in poster and swim suit calendar photo shoots.
PHOTO ESSAY
Photo essay needs to include today’s current trends. There are no
limitations to how you display your photo essay. Photo essays may be done
in portfolio style, on a mood board, or a collage format but applicants are
free to be as creative as they desire. Trends to include, but not limited to:
Short Hair
Medium Hair
Long Hair
Men’s Styles
Up styling
Color
Texture
Avant Garde
Learn to be an Instructor in our Academy: travel, teach, get published and
earn extra income.
Participate in shows, platform work and competitions.

US
Candy Shaw Codner, our CEO and Master
Educator, is the daughter of Jamison
Shaw. Candy literally grew up in the beauty
industry and has over 25 years of
hands-on hairdressing experience. Trained
in Europe and America, she’s considered
one of the world’s top stylists, seeing as
many as thirty clients per day. Recently
named one of the “World’s Ten Most
Published Stylists,” with over 400 images
appearing in nearly 100 magazines, Candy
was also named Intercoiffure America/
Canada’s “Personality of the Year” in an
awards ceremony in Paris. Known as one
of America’s top trainers, Candy is the
founder of our Advanced Hairdressing
Academy and In-Salon Training Program.
An accomplished platform artist, she
regularly performs and shoots in such
places as New York, L.A., Miami, Milan,
Chicago, London, Paris, Berlin, Dominican
Republic, Amsterdamn and Tokyo.

We participate regularly in fashion and hair shows on a local, national, and
international level. Our recent photo collections have been shot in Milan, London,
Paris, Amsterdam, New York, Dominican Republic, Miami, Atlanta and Los Angeles.
We also regularly see celebrity clientele and are the official salon for
