Keys to Year-Long course registration:
To add a Year-Long Course to your schedule, you must add the First Term before adding
the Second Term.
If you are Waitlisted for the First Term section you must receive your Registration Offer
for the First Term section and follow the steps to register before you can add the Second
Term Section.
To drop a Year-Long course from your schedule, you must drop the Second Term before
dropping the First Term.
Remember that to earn credit for a Year-Long Course, you must complete both sections
(Fall and Spring Terms). It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the correct
registration for your program and course requirements.

How to Register for Year Long Courses
It is important first to know how to identify a Full Year course as opposed to a single term
course. Please consider the following guidelines and use the examples on pages 4 and 5 of
this tutorial.
o In general, an undergraduate course that runs from September – April is worth 3.0
units. Compare this with a course that is offered for one term only which is worth 1.5
units.
o In the course calendar (print version), you will see the unit value noted next to the
course code. For example:
o When using the My page course look-up, the CRN (course registration number) is a link.
If you click on this link, an information box will open explaining the course requirements
and, if appropriate, that the course is a two-part (multi-term) course.

If the Year Long class is full and you wish to add yourself to the Waitlist, you can only do so for the first
term. Once you receive and accept a Registration Offer for your first term section, be sure to add the
second term section of the course to complete your registration.

to register in the First Term section BEFORE you can add the Second Term section. Remember that you will
not receive credit for the Year Long course unless you complete both sections (first and second term), so it
is imperative that you remember to register for both terms.

Similarly, to drop a full year course, you must do so in reverse order from the way they were added. In
other words, the second term must be dropped before the first term:
