What is a ”project”?
Project = ”Solving a problem”
• What is the problem?
• How to solve the problem?
• How to know that the problem has been solved?
• How good is the solution? A quality measure.

Though we might like to think
that animals see the world
with the same vivid colors and
definition as human beings,
perhaps just from different
angles and perspectives, the
truth is that vision differs
greatly among animal species.
Prairie Dog
Though humans can see the entire
visible light spectrum and would be
able to appreciate the rich greens of the
grass in the meadow on the left, prairie
dogs and squirrels are red/green color
blind, and only perceive the blues,
yellows, and greys of the landscape.
Shark
Sharks do not possess the same
variety of photoreceptors as
humans. They have few
retinal cones, and as a result,
most have no color
vision. Also, they have much
larger rod receptors (which
pick up light), with fewer
numbers of them, so their
vision is much less acute than
ours.
