Natalya Mytareva
Natalya Mytareva, a Russian interpreter and translator, started her career
as instructor of interpretation and translation courses at Volgograd State
University (Russia) in 1991.
Since 2000, Natalya has been Communications Director of the International Institute of Akron. Locally, Natalya is actively involved in issues of
equal access to health care for refugees.
Since 2003, Natalya has taught introductory courses to healthcare and
legal interpreters throughout Ohio. She is the author and presenter of courses for interpreters of
languages of lesser diffusion.
Natalya is the current Chair of the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters (CCHI) and
has been involved in the development of the CCHI certification examinations. She holds a combined
BA/MA degree from VSU in Philology & Teaching English as a Foreign Language.
