Public transport in Prague, Airport and other travel info Transport (http://www.pis.cz/en/prague/transport) Prague has a dense and reliable public transport system. The congress venue is situated on tram, bus and metro lines; the name of the stop/station is Dejvická (Metro A green, buses 119 and AE from the Airport). Prague Airport (http://www.prg.aero/en/) The Praha Ruzyně Airport is located in the northwest of Prague, some 20 kilometres away from the city centre. Buses of the city public transport: Line No. 119 to the Dejvická Metro Station (ticket price 20 CZK) Line No.100 to the Zličín Metro Station Line No. 179 to the Nové Butovice Metro Station (via the stop Divoká Šárka) A special line AE (also disabled access) - Airport Express to Dejvická and the Holešovice Railway Station (operation 5.00 - 22.00, traffic interval 30 minutes) A fare of 45 CZK is charged on this route. B. Taxi cabs: AAA Radiotaxi (http://www.aaataxi.cz/en/) Taxi (http://www.pis.cz/en/prague/transport/taxi) The maximum prices for taxi services in the district of the capital city of Prague: • • • ride in the district of the capital city of Prague 28,- CZK /1 km boarding fee 40,- CZK waiting 6,- CZK /1min. The maximum prices are valid for all the vehicles offering the taxi services in the district of Prague. The price for waiting includes waiting in a traffic jam (slow traffic) as well as waiting on customer's request. Fare outside the district of Prague is not limited. Warning for Customers • • • • Each taxi has to be equipped with a permanently installed roof lamp with the TAXI sign. The registration number, company name and the price list including the basic rate, kilometre rate and one-minute-waiting rate must be displayed on both front doors of the taxi. These prices must correspond with the prices set on the taximeters in the taxi. Customers are recommended to book a taxi by means of non-stop dispatching offices, where the information on fares is available in advance. When the journey is completed, the driver is obliged to issue an orderly and fully filled receipt for the payment. The receipt has to be issued by the taximeter printer. Transport from the Main Railway Station (Hlavní nádraží) Metro: red line to station Muzeum (in direction Háje) then change to green line to station Dejvická The public transport system in Prague (http://www.dp-praha.cz/en/) Metro (Map: http://cz.marys.cz/img/public_transport/prague_metro.jpg) The Prague Metro network consists of 3 lines designated by letters and differentiated in colour: green line (Depo Hostivař station - Dejvická station) yellow line (Černý most station - Zličín station) red line (Ládví - Háje station), with possible changes at Muzeum station (lines A and C), Můstek station (lines A and B), Florenc station (lines B and C). Metro operates daily from 5 a.m. to 12 p.m. The time interval between train departures is approximately 2 - 3 minutes during the workday rush hours and 4 - 10 minutes during off-peak hours. Trams Daytime operation is from 4:30 a.m. to midnight. Night operation is from midnight to 4:30 a.m. and is provided by tram numbers 51 to 59 in the interval of 30 minutes. Tram schedules are located at the individual stops. Buses The daytime and night operation of buses is similar to tram operation. Night service is provided by bus numbers 501 to 514 and 601 to 604. Bus schedules are located at the individual stops. Prague City Transport Fares Travelling by city transport is possible only with a valid ticket. Passengers have to obtain their tickets before boarding the vehicle or entering the Metro system. The ticket is valid only if marked in the validation appliance (time stamp printed). Tickets can be bought at selected Metro stations, at news stands, travel bureau, department stores etc. Single tickets can also be bought from the ticket vendors located at Metro stations or near some stops of surface transport. Fares Transfer ticket 20,- CZK Discounted (children 6 to 15 years) 10,- CZK • the ticket is valid for 75 minutes after marking. During off-peak hours, i.e. 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. on working days and all day Saturdays and Sundays ticket validity is prolonged to 90 minutes. Ticket with limited transfer options 14,- CZK Discounted (children 6 to 15 years) 7,- CZK • in trams and buses a non-transfer ticket is valid for 20 minutes after marking and does not allow changing of lines. In the underground the non-transfer ticket is valid for 5 stations after marking (excluding the starting station) and allows transfers between the underground lines. Time validity of the non-transfer ticket in the underground is limited to 30 minutes. Freight • • luggage 10,- CZK dogs 20,- CZK Tourist Tickets • • • • for 24 hours 80,- CZK, children (6 - 15 years) 40,- CZK for 3 days (72 hours) 220,- CZK for 7 days (168 hours) 280,- CZK for 15 days (360 hours) 320,- CZK These tickets are valid for all the city transport facilities and allow changes. The ticket is valid from the moment of its marking. These tickets can be bought in the Information Centres of the Prague Information Service (PIS). All tickets (including the tourist tickets) can be bought at the Prague Information Service desk at the airport on your right when you leave the arrival zone (Terminal North I). This is the best place to ask about travel options if you are new to the Prague system and buy some tickets.
