temporary directory to be uncompressed before the program can be installed.
installed See FA159776 for
instruction on how to copy file to the vMA.
Assuming you copied the downloaded files to /opt/temp the commands are
cd /opt/temp
sudo
d gunzip
i pcns301ESXi.tar.gz
301ESXi t
sudo tar –xf pcns301ESXi.tar
There will now be a new directory named ESXi created in /opt/temp
Schneider Electric - IT Business- SmartWare Tiger Team Leader
11
After uncompress the file change directory to /opt/temp/ESXi (caution Linux is case sensitive)
Assuming you are still in the /opt/temp directory the commands are
cd ESXi
ls –la (to view the contents of the directory)
Schneider Electric - IT Business- SmartWare Tiger Team Leader
12
After running the command ls – la to view the contents of the directory you need change the permissions
of the file install_en.sh to make it executable.
The command is
sudo chmod 777 install_en.sh
install en sh (en indicates the English version)
Schneider Electric - IT Business- SmartWare Tiger Team Leader

Single-UPS Configuration
In a Single

protected by a single UPS. That is, each server has one PCNS agent
communicating with a single NMC installed on a UPS.

Redundant Configuration
In a Redundant-UPS Configuration, PowerChute Network Shutdown
recognizes a group of either two or three UPS’s as a single UPS. In this
configuration, one PowerChute Network Shutdown Agent on a server
communicates with two or three NMCs (depending on the number of UPS’s in
the configuration). Typically, the servers have multiple (dual or triple) power
cords. Each UPS has its own NMC, which has a unique IP address. In
addition all the NMCs use the same HTTP port and the same administrator
addition,
user name, password, and authentication phrase.
Each UPS has the capacity to supply power to the load on its own. The first
UPS provides
id allll the
h power ffor the
h lload,
d the
h additional
ddi i
l UPS(
UPS(s)) act as reserve.
When the first UPS in unable to supply power, the server switches over to take
power from the next UPS. As a result, if one of the UPS’s goes down, for
whatever reason, the other UPS(s) can continue to supply power to the load
and therefore provide redundancy between UPS’s. PowerChute Network
Shutdown recognizes that the UPS’s are set-up in a Redundant-UPS
configuration and listens to all the UPS NMCs for a shutdown command.

Parallel Configurations
In a Parallel-UPS
Parallel UPS Configuration, two or more UPS’s
UPS s (up to nine depending
on the model) support the load. Each UPS does not need to be capable of
supporting the load on its own as the combined output of all UPS’s in the
configuration share the load. However, depending on the size of the load there
