How to arrive in Vitoria The nearest major airport to Vitoria-Gasteiz is Bilbao Airport (see arriving information from Bilbao to Vitoria below). If you arrive to Madrid-Barajas Airport, you can take a bus to Vitoria-Gasteiz from the airport. The bus operated by ALSA (http://www.alsa.es) departs from Madrid-Barajas Terminal 4, and the ticket costs 27,25€. The journey takes about 4.5 hours. The best way to get around the city: By Bike: A good way to see the city is to do it by bike. At the moment there are 91 km of streets or traffic lanes upgraded for cycling. The fastest and safest way to move between two points in the city, is finding the bike paths. And if you do not have your own bike, you can rent one and get lost in the many green spaces.
