CommScope Instruction Sheet ED-6C157-30 Groups for DSX-1/1C and DIXI Systems Framework Hardware Installation Procedures for Express Troughs, Transition Troughs, and Cross-Aisle Bridging Hardware 365-301-120-22 Issue 6, February 2004 Material ID 847 441 664 General This instruction sheet provides procedures for installing the following framework hardware: • Lower express troughs and jumper retainers • Lower transition troughs • Upper express troughs including: upper horizontal express troughs, upper horizontal through troughs, and upper horizontal cross-aisle express troughs • Cross-aisle bridging troughs and ramps. These framework hardware piece parts are used with the DSX-1/1C Systems (Bantam Plus and 800- and 900-Series) and the Digital Interconnect and Cross-Connect Interface Systems (DIXI-1 and DIXI-3). All of the hardware covered in this instruction sheet is designed to mount on 23-inch (584 mm) bay frames. The express troughs and jumper retainers are also supplied with certain ED-6C157-31 groups. ED-6C15731framework groups consist of various ED-6C157-30 individual groups assembled to facilitate the engineering and ordering of framework hardware needed to construct bays for specific applications. For Cross-Aisle Troughs where adjacent lineups are not parallel, refer to ED-6C157-30, Grouping Offset Cross-Aisle kit. The trough kit may be used with DSX1 and DSX3 equipment bay lineups with 2 ft.-3 in. and 3 ft-0 in. aisle spacing. See Page 13. Groups 23 and 27 mount the same way. 1. Locate the mounting hole positions for the upper horizontal cross-aisle through trough. Align the top edge of the through trough with the bottom edge of the bay frame top. 2. Fasten the through trough to the frame with four No. 12-24 by 3/8-inch (9.5 mm) long screws. Note: The 8-inch (203 mm) and 6-inch (152 mm) high troughs (Groups 10 and 23) use eight screws (four per side) for each through trough. The 4-inch (102 mm) high through trough (Group 27) uses four screws (two per side). 3. If desired, fasten back plate to the through trough using four No. 12-24 by 3/8-inch (9.5 mm) long screws.
