1. Introduction: Things to keep in mind
• Eureka supports the enhancement of the industry
competitiveness through R&D&I international
collaborative projects
• Bottom-up projects: no technological areas or
sectorial markets preferred
• Market oriented (companies are the main target)
• Open call
• Evaluation and funding decentralized
• Supporting initiatives: Clusters, Umbrellas and
Eurostars
3
2. Idea: Starting the process
• A company should have a clear idea looking for
partners or the will to participate in an existing
proposal
• Obtain information through Internet
• Match your idea with the Eureka criteria
• Contact your Eureka NPC soon or the Umbrella
• Partner search tools: Website, NPC, EEN, Umbrella
• Use your idea as a way to improve collaboration
strategies with old partners (distributors, clients…)
4
3. Proposal: Building-up the consortium
• Korean entities can lead the project and it is only
needed one additional country from Eureka members
• Clear and precise documents: application form and
consortium agreement
• Meet your NPC to review the documents or contact the
Umbrella
• Distinguish between international and funding process
• Follow-up the status in your partner’s country
• Stay alert for calls for proposals at bilateral or
multilateral level or at Umbrella level
5
4. Project: Endorsement and funding
• All the involved NPC must support the proposal
• Proposals coming out of any Umbrella must follow
the same procedure as individual projects
• Documentation must show an ambitious but
realistic project to the capacities of the consortium
• Eureka label is granted in NPC/HLG meetings (3 or 4
times per year)
• National funding applications may include deadlines
• Monitoring reports at international level (Eureka
and Umbrella if applicable)
