Starting a Bequest Program in 60 Days
There is one type of gift that every donor can consider—a testamentary
gift. That commonly takes the form of a bequest, but it also includes
life insurance and retirement plans. In this session, we discuss how to
start a bequest program from scratch. From choosing an appropriate
name for a Deferred Giving Society to marketing the program, we cover
everything you need to know to take advantage of the most popular
planned giving in America.
Mastering the Charitable Gift Annuity
We all want the outright gift, but, often donors cannot give up the
income from their assets. That makes the beauty and simplicity of the
Charitable Gift Annuity perfect. In this session, we cover the uses and
flexibility of the Charitable Gift Annuity. This includes how it works,
why donors love this gift vehicle, and all of the considerations for you
and for the donor. There is no excuse to leave this marvelous gift option
on the table. If you have been afraid of this vehicle up to now, you will
walk away feeling confident about how to incorporate a life income gift
into your program.
The 15 Hideous Reasons You Are Not Getting Gifts
If your fund raising totals are lacking this year, the reason probably isn’t
the economy, your lack of planned giving expertise, or even your tiny
staff. Poor results may be due to wasteful habits, unproductive activities,
lack of discipline and procrastination. This very practical session is
for all kinds of fund raisers—annual--major gifts, campaign, planned
giving, volunteers, and Trustees--and will help get you back on track in
time for year-end.
Putting It All Together
For a small shop, the staff feels overworked and always treading water.
There is a chronic tug of war between immediate cash needs and longterm vision. With so few hands, it feels like you can never get ahead
or take the time to really plan beyond next month. In this session, we
cover ideas, strategies and tools to change the paradigm. This includes
the role of the board and volunteers, how to incorporate an Endowment
component, and why having an Endowment/Major gift focus will
increase annual giving, enhance stewardship, and allow for seamless
integration of planned giving.
