Compliance Reviews
All Modes conduct compliance reviews
(CR) of DOT Drug and Alcohol Rules
Drug and Alcohol portion of CR covers
49 CFR Part 40 and one Modal Rule
(e.g., 49 CFR Part 382), as a minimum
Scope of CR varies by mode (e.g.,
FMCSA review will be for more than
“just drugs and alcohol”)
CR – D&A Audit Basics
Does company:





Have a program in place?
Do appropriate testing?
Use qualified Service Agents?
Make immediate removals from safetysensitive duty when required?
Maintain records?
Provide proof of the above.
