How to get to Ljubljana+map Šentvid bus station-gym!
So, the Airport is located 27 km north of the city.
The easiest way to come to Ljubljana is by bus or private mini bus/combi. They both
take you to the Ljubljana Bus station. From bus station you can easily find the way to the
gym.

You can also come by taxi...they are already waiting in front of the terminal building. A
one-way trip to Ljubljana costs app. 30 EUR.

1. Those who are coming by car:
Come directly to the gym. You can park in front of the gym. Please, try to come
till 17.00 (the latest hour!) on 29th December because of the programme.

There is only one small detail that you have to have in mind. You can only leave highway
A2 if you are coming from the North (through Jesenice). In that case you exit it on exit
Šentvid and go left and than once again left on the first traffic light and than left again
and when you come till the end of the street (you see A2 once again) you turn right
and there is the gym. If you are coming from other directions you should go on highway
H3 and turn exit on Celovška street. Than you have to go West for around 1,0 km and
turn right on the last traffic light before you come till A2. Than you go left and right
when cannot go straight any more. ;)
Other details about driving in Slovenia:
- we drive on the right side of the street ;)
- if you drive according to traffic law you won't get fined
- for driving on national highway network (A, H) you have to have a sticker. You can buy
it on every gasoline station and it's recommended to buy it before you cross the border.
It's valid for 7 days and it costs 15€. You can also use state roads (G, R) but i think it's
just not worth bothering for 15€.
-be prepaired on bad weather conditions, like snow...so, if you don't have "snow rubbers",
don't forget your snow chains
2. Those who are coming by train/bus:
-If you arrive in Ljubljana in the night 28/29th December or before 7.00 am on
29th December, please inform us and we will find the best solution.
-If you arrive in Ljubljana between 7.00 and 17.30, come directly to the gym.
Don't worry, its' not complicated.
-If you arrive in Ljubljana after 17.30 on 29th December, please inform us in
advance. There will be no time to go to the gym and back, so we will meet in the
centre. You will go directly to the dinner place, which is close to the main
bus/train station, and one of the organizers will take your luggage to the gym, so
you can enjoy the evening.
The first dinner will be at the restaurant called Fresco. It is near Bavarski dvor directions how to get there are below, in the bus section (the address is
Slovenska 51, it is about 5 minuts walking from the station)
Here are small steps how to reach the gym from Ljubljana train/bus station:
a) BUS
The easiest&cheapest way is by the city bus:
-our city buses are white-green
-every bus has a number and a direction which you mustn't mix
-to tell the driver that you want to exit you must press the button
Paying the bus:
put a coin for 1 EUR into the box (they don't return change).
Option 1: Bus nr. 25
Left from the office of the main bus station down the road you will see a small bus stop
(name: Kolodvor); bus station is just in front of the railway station.
Go there and wait for the green white bus 25 (direction: Medvode).
Now you are on the bus! Stay on it around 15-20 minutes (depends on the traffic).
Go down at the station Šentvid. (In your help: 1 station before Šentvid is Podgora;
there are maps of the bus routes in every bus).
The problem is that 25 is not that frequent.

This times are from the starting stop, keep in mind that the bus should be at the
Kolodvor stop approximatelly 15 minutes later.
Option 2: Bus nr. 8
If you don't want to wait on it so long and don't have too much luggage, you can walk 5
minutes and catch bus 8 which drives more or less every 15 minutes.
Directions: Now you are in front of the train/bus station in Ljubljana. You are watching a
big clock, McDonald's,…:
Turn left and walk 150 m to the busy Slovenska cesta (Slovenska road)
Cross the road and turn left-now you are at Bavarski dvor
Walk few more meters until you reach a small bus station for city buses (name: Bavarski
dvor)
Now you will see a lot of green-white buses coming and going
Wait on bus 8 (direction Gameljne)
Now you are at the bus-bravo! Stay on it around 15-20 minutes (depends on the traffic).
Go down at the station Šentvid. (In your help: 1 station before Šentvid is Podgora).
Option 3:
From the centre: if you are in the centre of Ljubljana, you have to find a bus 1
(direction Vižmarje) - stop is for example in front of the main post office near Copova
street.

b) TAXI:
Taxi to the gym should cost around 7-8 €. The taxis just in front of the station are
sometimes just waiting for tourists and they can raise the price, so it is better if you know
the price in advance and also ask them ''How much it would cost''. One option is also to
go a bit further away to find a taxi or to call them.
