by nearly 50 percent. The company is employing RFID tags to

finished materials as they came off the machine and were

available in the firm’s extensive apparel line, American Apparel is
using RFID to keep the sales floors well-stocked, gaining a competitive edge. Hear how the retailer evaluated the technology and prepared for

How RFID Delivers Shipping Accuracy and Cost Savings
DePuy, a division of Johnson & Johnson, receives more than half
of its ExpressKit orders to be shipped out on the same day they
arrive. Employees had to bar-code-scan each component in each
kit twice—sometimes more than 100 per kit—then repack them
before shipping. Learn how the company implemented an RFID
system that dramatically improved shipping accuracy, shortened
the kits’ typical check-in and -out times and made it possible to more accurately
bill surgeons for the items they actually use.

Kimberly-Clark Reduces Yard-Management Costs
After its successful pilot deployment, Kimberly-Clark has moved
beyond the evaluation phase and is now employing a passive
UHF EPC RFID system for yard management. This session will explain how the company has utilized its existing EPC RFID infrastructure to integrate the RFID EPC solution into its current
software platforms, and how it has combined radio frequency

Setting Standards for RFID in the Worldwide Supply Chain
Last December, EPCglobal and several end-user companies
began testing the use of the EPC Information Service to track
products in cartons, containers and pallets from Tokyo to Amsterdam. In this session, learn how supply chain partners tracked
shipments from a third-party logistics provider in Japan to a distribution warehouse in the Netherlands, and how they used EPCIS
to store, access and share real-time event data regarding objects moving
throughout different points in the supply chain.

Monitoring and Authenticating High-Value Goods
eProvenance, a startup company, recently introduced a service
that tracks, authenticates and monitors bottles of wine through
the combined use of semi-active and passive RFID tags, as well as
specialized ink. This unique method utilizes a temperature-tracking tag placed within each case of wine. In this session, hear how
passive tags can be employed to identify and authenticate items,
and to link them to particular temperature-tracking tags, as well as to the shippers, distributors or brokers handling them.
