It is my great honor and pleasure to invite you to attend the “Asian UTI/STI
Forum, 2014” for the “Development of Asian Guidelines for UTI/STI” which is
scheduled from 9th to 10th May, 2014 in Seoul Korea.

This Forum aims to develop the Asian practice guidelines for the management
of urinary tract infections (UTIs) and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
The Urological Association of Asia (UAA) has planned to develop the Asian guidelines
Secretary General
development, which is organized by the Asian Association of UTI/STI (AAUS).
The first meeting for this project was held on 20th September, 2013 in Macau.
Although some Asian countries have their own guidelines for UTI/STI, we need to have
our unified guidelines. We also need to know the status of diseases, antimicrobial
resistance patterns and management strategies in each Asian country. Eventually, the
Asian guidelines will help us to deal with infectious issues and to save people from the

Dr Zhang is associate professor of Department of Urology, Peking University First Hospital (Institute of Urology,
Mr Qiao Ludong is an Urologist in the Department of Urology at Beijing Tongren Hospital Capital medical
Peking University) and has been holding the position since 2003.
Dr Zhang obtained his MD in 1993 and his PhD doctorate in 1998, both in Beijing Medical University (Peking
University Health Science Center). He majored in prostate diseases and erectile dysfunction in clinic and research
field.
He is member of both Youth Committee of Chinese Urological Association (CUA) and Chinese Association of
university in Beijing, China. After completing his undergraduate training at Hebei medical university, Shijiazhuang,
China, Mr Qiao pursued his training in Beijing. During this time, he undertook extensive research in urodynamic
study, basic study of female sexual dysfunction and minimally invasive treatment of urinary stones which resulted
in several publications on these topics. After finishing the master’s thesis of “Study of Icariin effect on vaginal
blood flow of ovariotomized rats as female sexual arousal dysfunction model” in the Institute of Urology, Peking
University, he got Master’s degree in Urology in June of 2005.
Andrology (CAA), board member of both CUA Urogenital Infection & Inflammation Section and Andrology Sec-
tion. He is also chief editor of CUA Guidelines on Prostatitis, editor of CAA Guidelines on Erectile Dysfunction,
Guidelines on Epididymis and editorial board member of Chinese National Journal of Andrology.
Dr Zhang has published more than 20 papers.
