In this issue: • Cooper Lighting Fluorescent Hi-Bays • Modular Wiring Systems (MWS) • Retrofit Savings Analysis • Various Configuration Returns • Try Before You Buy FEATURING How to save the world… or at least your facility Can a single lighting fixture help you reduce costs, improve quality, and enhance productivity? BEFORE The answer is YES, if you upgrade your existing Metal Halide or High-Pressure Sodium Hi-Bay/Lo-Bays to Cooper Lighting’s F-Bay Fluorescent Hi-Bay fixtures. If your lighting system is like most HID installations, your fixtures are operating at 60–70% of their original light output and consuming as much as 30% more energy than an equivalent fluorescent fixture would. Retro-fitting to Cooper’s F-Bay Fixture will provide you with the following benefits: • Up to 50% energy savings • Improved worker productivity • • through enhanced lighting quality Lower procurement and maintenance costs More savings associated with the use of lighting controls To request additional copies, or to be removed from the mailing list, please email [email protected]. © Copyright 2005 WESCO Distribution Canada, LP All Rights Reserved. Look inside for more details! AFTER Fluorescent Hi-Bays The Metalux brand of Cooper Lighting can handle a broad range of applications with two F-Bay product families: the I5 and HB series. The F-Bay I5 series has a single housing width (11") with 2-, 3-, or 4-lamp crosssections available in 4' or 8' lengths. The I5 optic has been optimized for T5 and Biax lamps. The F-Bay HB series has two housing widths (15" and 24") with 2-, 3-, 4-, or 6-lamp cross section only available in the 4' length. The HB optic has been optimized for T8 and T5 lamps. Options & Accessories suspended, chain suspended, or stem mounted • Top connector box • for conduit mounting Tong Hanger Shielding Options: • Open (maximum light output) • Frosted acrylic • Heavy-duty wire Energy Savings Fluorescent Hi-Bays offer comparable light levels as HID High-Bays but consume up to 50% less energy. Combine with lighting control systems and the savings increase. These significant energy savings make upgrading an easy decision. Lighting Quality Fluorescent lamps provide significantly better Colour Rendering than Metal Halide or High-Pressure Sodium Lamps. Also F-Bay fixture design provides more uniform light distribution. Better quality lighting improves visibility and worker productivity. Lighting Control Mounting Options: • Surface, cable Benefits • Blade baffle (I5 only) • Asymmetric louver (I5 only) guard Unlike HID sources, fluorescent lamps allow for instant on/off with no restrike time. This not only provides the ability to combine with many lighting control systems (i.e., occupancy sensors, daylight controls, switching etc.), but also reduces costly downtime associated with power outages, burnouts, and power surges. Lower Maintenance Savings Fluorescent lamps can have up to a 36,000-hour rated life when operated on 12 hours per start and have considerably less lumen depreciation than HID lamps. Also, the lower replacement costs of fluorescent lamps provide additional procurement savings. Other Options: • Motion sensor • Optional uplight • Top ballast access • Wiring access plate Now Available in a Wash-Down Version NEW! Modular Wiring Systems... Reduce Installation Costs * Simple and cost effective wiring. Meet the challenges of new construction and renovation with Cooper Lighting's MWS: • Low cost installation of branch circuit wiring for lighting and power • Modular components plug together • MWS can be installed in a fraction of the time required for hardwiring • MWS offers the advantage of easily relocating fixtures and outlets in future renovations * Install costs based on Cooper surveys with contractors for 100 single-circuit fixtures at $30/hour labour rate.
