Tips

If any of your answers to questions in page 4 (Background Information) is YES or you are not sure
about your answer, contact UBC immigration consultants before submitting your application.

You must have a valid study permit when you submit your application. The co-op work permit is
usually issued for the length of your study permit. When you extend your study permit, you can apply
for (or extend) a co-op work permit at the same time.

Your co-op work permit will list the employer as “UBC” and will allow you to work for any authorized coop work term. This work permit only allows the work associated to your co-op work term.

You do not need a job offer to apply.

Need help scanning your documents? Go to the Irving K. Barber Chapman Learning Commons.

“Press the “Validate” button to ensure your application is complete. The validate button does not send
any information to CIC, so you may edit and validate as many times as you
need.
