Step by step guide to identifying a Multipoint Door Lock
1 - Open the door and look for a name printed into the metal plate running down the side of the door.
The printed name is the brand of multipoint lock.
2 - If there isn't a name or letters on the strip then remove the multipoint lock from the door.
With the lock removed, note the shape of the central body of the lock and match its shape with
Types of Locking Point: (note that many locks have more than one type)

4 - If there are hooks or deadbolts top and bottom then you need to
measure the distance between them in millimetres (see technical drawing below).
You can then compare that measurement to the measurements given for each door lock.
5 - Check the locking operation of your old lock.
Ideally you need the same locking operation to avoid compatibility
issues with the handle set. There are 3 main types of locking operation
: Lever lever, Lever Pad and Key operated (wind up):
•Lever lever is when the door handle has to be lifted to engage the
locks then turn the key once to lock.
•Lever Pad is the same as lever lever but a key must be used to gain
access from outside even when the door is unlocked.
•Wind up is when the door key has to be turned several times to
engage all the locks, the handle is not used to lock the door.

NEW COUNTY GLAZING WINDOW LOCK IDENTIFICATION GUIDE
All of our espagnolette multipoint upvc window locks have mushroom cams but can be used without problem in
place of ones with roller cams.
There are many different makes of espagnolette multi point upvc window locks
but they are interchangeable as long as they are of the same backset, rail length,
rail width, cam height and still offset or still inline. If a different make is used but they
are otherwise very similar then it is likely that the keeps will need to be re-positioned
due to the cams being in a different position on the rail. On occasions the hole for
the gearbox in the window frame may need to be enlarged when using a different
brand but it is rare.
Note: Most types of espagnolette multipoint upvc window locks have adjustable
mushroom cams. These can be adjusted using an allen key or sometimes a flat headed
screwdriver to increase compression on a slack window (symptom: handle goes into
closed position too easily) or decrease window compression on an over tight window
(symptom: handle has to be forced into closed position).
