Pushchino Radio Astronomy Observatory
The school takes place in the town of Pushchino located about 100 km South of Moscow on Oka river. The
conference venue and the hotel are very close to each other.
Important: It takes at least 3 hours to get to the school from any of the three major airports in Moscow
(Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, Vnukovo). For this reason, it is advised that you plan to arrive mid-day so that
you have plenty of time to make it to the school before it gets dark. This way it will easier for you to find the
hotel. Alternatively, you can spend the night in Moscow and travel to the school in the following morning.
Note: Lectures in the school start at 16:00 on Monday, 1 July. For this reason, you can arrive into school on the
same day Monday, 1 July. We recommend that you arrive before noon, so you will be able to catch the lunch
and get to know your peers.

Directions to the School:
To get to school you first get to a metro (subway) station called “Yuzhnaya” (“Южная”). From there on, you
take the bus to the town of Pushchino, where the school takes place. The bus trip takes about 2 hours and the
last bus leaves around 22:00 (schedule is given below). It is advised to arrive early as there are often lines for
the bus.
Directions to Yuzhnaya Metro Station:
From Sheremetyevo Airport:
1. Take Aeroexpress Train from Airport to Belorussky Railway Station (travel time 35 min; price 320 Rubles,
see the train schedule at http://www.svo.aero/en/transport/#aeroekspress).
2. We do NOT recommend to use buses or a taxi because of possible traffic jams. If you do take a taxi, we
suggest to order it through the agent an the information desk. Avoid private drivers who might approach you
unsolicited.
3. Enter Belorusskaya Metro Station, take the green line (line number 2), and go to Tverskaya Station (2 stops);
4. Change to the Chekhovskaya Station, take the gray line (line number 9) to Yuzhnaya Station (10 stops, about
30 min);
From Domodedovo Airport:
1. take Aeroexpress Train goes between Domodedovo Airport and Paveletsky Railway Station (travel time
about 40-50 min; price 320 Rubles); information is availble at http://www.domodedovo.ru/en/main/getting/
1/aero/;
2. We do NOT recommend to use buses or a taxi because of possible traffic jams. If you do take a taxi, we
suggest to order it through the agent an the information desk. Avoid private drivers who might approach you
unsolicited.
3. From the Paveletskaya Metro Station take the brown line (line number 5) and go to Dobryninskaya Station
(3 stops);
4. change to the Serpukhovskaya Station and take the gray line (line number 9) and go to Yuzhnaya Station (7
stops, about 20 min);
From Vnukovo Airport:
1. take Aeroexpress Train goes between Vnukovo Airport and Kievskiy Railway Station (travel time about 40
min; price 320 Rubles); more information is at http://www.vnukovo.ru/eng/for-passengers/schem/arrive/;
2. We do NOT recommend to use buses or a taxi because of possible traffic jams. If you do take a taxi, we
suggest to order it through the agent an the information desk. Avoid private drivers who might approach you
unsolicited.
3. Enter Kievskaya Metro Station and take the brown line (line number 5) to Dobryninskaya Station (3 stops);
4. Change to the Serpukhovskaya Station and take the gray line (line number 9) to Yuzhnaya Station (7 stops,
about 20 min);
Directions from “Yuzhnaya” (“Южная”) Metro Station to Pushchino:
1. Take Bus 359 that departs from near the “Yuzhnaya” Metro Station. Note the last bus leaves at 22:00
(bus schedule is given below). You will find detailed instructions on how to find the bus stop below as
well.
2. Exit at the “Zelyonaya Zona” (“Зеленая Зона”) bus stop in Pushchino. It is a good idea to pre-arrange
the fact that you want to leave the bus at that stop with the driver so the driver alerts you once you
approach the stop.
3. Walk from the bus stop (marked with number 2) to the hotel (marked with number 3) on the map below.

Walking directions from Yuzhnaya Metro Station to the stop of Bus 359 for Puschino (“Пущино”):
1. exit the train and go to the right to the Metro Exit (in the direction of the train motion);
2. after exiting the Metro, you will be in the underground crossing; take a left and then go upstairs to the right.
You should find yourself at the corner of Kirovogradskaya (“Кировоградская”) and Dnepropetrovskaya
(“Днепропетровская”) streets (point «A» at the map);
3. go along Dnepropetrovskaya street from point «A» to point «B» (approximately 200 m) until you find bus
stop for the Bus 359 (Moscow – Pushchino). Ticket price is 210 Rubles;
Travel time to Pushchino by this bus is about 1h 30m.
Bus 359 schedule:
07:45, 08:30, 09:10, 10:10, 11:10, 12:45, 14:10, 15:10, 16:10,
17:10 (except Sat, Sun); 18:45, 19:50, 20:15 (Fri), 21:00, 22:00
