Retro Rudder Assembly Instructions – How to…
1. Sandwich PBD between Deltas
2. Slide blade into place between
disc/pulley
3. You may need to drill out a
larger hole with ¼” drill bit
to accept bolt
4. Use large bolt to hold
disc/pulley in place between
deltas
5. Take end of rope without knot; feed
through PBD and up back around the
disc/pulley (rope highlighted in yellow)
6. Pull rope tight around the
disc/pulley and match up
loose ends
7. Make sure blade is in forward upright position. Using end of rope without knot; tie it off to the blade
8. Deploy rudder into downward
position. Feed rope back up and
around other side of disc/pulley
and through PBD
9. Tie barrel knot with each loose end and pull knots tight.
Pull opposing ends and barrel knots will slide together.
One more time. Here’s how you tie the rope again:
Feed loose end of rope through starboard side of PBD and tie it off with a knot
Continue to feed rope back up around disc/pulley and through port side of PBD
Tie loose ends with “double fisherman knot”
