One in four women will be affected by domestic violence at some point in her lifetime, and this devastating problem impacts women, men and children in Broward County every day. October's Neighborhood Hero This month's neighborhood heroes are the Knights of Columbus North Miami Chapter and an anonymous donor from Hollywood, Florida who helped give a Perrine woman with Cancer a comfortable place to rest after Chemotherapy. The anonymous donor donated the bed in honor of his Women In Distress of Broward County, Inc. (WID) is Broward's only nationally accredited, state-certified, full service domestic violence center, providing programs and services to families affected by domestic violence. You're invited to join them for the Women In Distress 13th Annual SAFEWALK-RUN 5K in Sunrise on Saturday, October 29th.
