PRESENTERS MICHAEL NISCHAN, CDS, CCSP has nearly 20 years experience in transportation. After graduating from Lenoir-Rhyne College, he worked as a law enforcement officer before moving into private industry, where he managed the transportation operation for a international manufacturer. He joined The McCart Group in 2000 to start the firm’s first transportation risk control practice, where he helps motor carriers achieve and exceed regulatory requirements, develops management and training programs, implements controls to enhance efficiency and productivity, and educates all members of an organization on compliance and security measures. He is also an instructor with the North American Transportation Management Institute (NATMI) and provides professional training courses on behalf of GMTA for transportation managers. He is the only Certified Cargo Security Professional (CCSP) employed by an insurance or risk management firm in Georgia, and is active in the battle against cargo and equipment theft. Mr. Nischan is a member of numerous organizations, including GMTA and SETSC (South East Transportation Security Council). HEATH STEWART is a principal of Impact Collision Analysis, LLC and has 15 years experience in collision investigation and reconstruction. He began his career with Georgia State Patrol and spent a majority of his time with the Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT), investigating and reconstructing fatal crashes to ensure successful prosecution for homicide by vehicle cases. Since leaving the Georgia State Patrol, Mr. Stewart has focused on private consulting, investigation, reconstruction, and expert witness work. He has experience investigating more than 1,000 crashes on both the criminal and civil side. Mr. Stewart is certified as an instructor for Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST), forensic mapping specialist, Bosch Crash Data Retrieval (CDR) Technician, Bosch CDR Analyst, and Bosch CDR Technician Instructor. He regularly teaches Accident Investigation On-Scene Level 2, Practical Applications for Physics, and CDR Technician. MATTHEW STONE is the partner in charge of Freeman Mathis & Gary’s transportation practice group and leads the firm’s 24/7 Emergency Response Team. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) and his law degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. He is admitted to practice in Georgia and California and has earned an AV (preeminent) peer review rating from Martindale Hubbell. His practice is devoted to defending motor vehicle liability claims against companies and drivers in the trucking and transportation industry. J. MITCHELL FROST, JR. is a founding partner of Ferguson, Frost & Dodson, LLP in Birmingham, Alabama. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama and his law degree from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University.
