How to add and upload videos?
a) Click [Video Vault ] button.
b) Click [Add Video] button:
Fill in important fields for Add New Video dialogue boxes:
Video Title box doesn’t support Chinese characters.
Tick appropriate Video Format boxes. WMV 300KB/S Standard is
recommended.
Select Not open for public users in the Video Access Code box.
Others are optional
Then click [ submit ] button.
c) After successfully adding your video, go back to [Video Vault ]
d) Click the associated folder like icon followed by the video title in the
Video Vault page.
e) Follow the link Video file not exists, click this link to upload .
You will be directed to Video Upload page. Select the correctly formatted
video clip on your local storage medium (ensure that the video file
extension must be in small letters and with the correct format, such as
Video.wmv but Video.WMV not accepted) and click [ Upload Video ]. Wait
until file is successfully uploaded. The maximum allowable video size is
limited to 100M bytes.
For better viewing performance, try to split your video into several shorter
video clips (about 15-20 minutes).
f) Click < back to video detailed page. The uploaded video file will be
shown.
How to add and upload video surrogates? (Optional)
Video surrogate is a pictorial representation of a video and is served as an
efficient means for visually identification for a video.
a) In the video detailed page, click [ Video Surrogates Management ].
b) Click [ Upload Surrogates ] on the top menu bar.
Select the thumbnails ( 92 x 70 resolution in JPG format ) on your local
storage medium and press [ Upload video surrogates ].
c) Rename the thumbnails with correct sequence, such as 1, 2, 3 or 1, a, b,
c etc. However, the first thumbnail must be renamed as 1, i.e. 1.jpg will be
selected by system as the video icon. The thumbnails will then be
organized sequentially as a storyboard for that video.
In general, the video icon is served as a quick access for the video
playback, which is in 300kbps WMV by default. Hence video with 300kbps
WMV format should be defined and uploaded.
How to share your videos to community members?
a) Click [ Transaction Bin ]
b) Click Share Videos to Community Members.
c) Tick All Group Members, select the community and select number of
videos you want to share then click Submit.
d) Then select the videos to share and Submit.
e) Click Videos Shared by Community Members.
f) Select the community you want and press [ Go ]. Shared videos within
your community will be shown.
How to share my comments in bulletin board?
a) Click the video thumbnail you want to share your comments.
b) Video Communication Panel will be opened. Identify the video segment
you want to comment by pressing Mark In (Start of segment) and Mark
Out (End of segment) button. The corresponding time-code will be
shown as Start Time and End Time respectively. Then enter Subject
and Comment on Segment dialogue boxes. And finally press Send
Comment. You may further comment using this panel or press [Close
Window].
If this time code
not running,
press Stop and
Play to retry.
c) Click Bulletin Board to view and reply comments.
d) All comments and replies will be listed for that video. You may
Press Reply to reply on any Subject you want.
Press Segment to view the exact video segment.
Press Generate PDF Report to create a portable PDF file for that bulletin
board. Adobe Reader version 7 must be installed.
Procedures for Video Analysis within video database system
1. Assume you have some videos within your video vault
2. Go to [ Video Analysis Suite ] by click Video Analysis on top menu bar
3. For create a new Video Analysis Project, fill in the required boxes and click Submit
and remember to enable the Add Project check box.
4. After creating the video analysis project, a message will prompt you to add videos
for that project. Then click Search Videos
5. Click Browse your own Vault to search the videos you want to add in this project
6. A page showing all your videos inside your own vault
7. Select and click Add Video button, a prompt message “ Video has been added” will
be shown upon successful addition. Duplicated videos will be rejected as “Duplicated
Video”.
8. After adding videos, click Video Analysis Home
9. All your videos will be shown within your project. Click Video Annotation to enter
[ Video Analysis Suite ]
10. Select and click the video thumbnail that you want to annotate.
11. Inside a pop-up window [ Video Annotation Panel ], press Mark In and then Mark
Out buttons to identify the exact video segment you want to enter annotation. For this
example: 00:00:12 to 00:00:19 total 7 seconds. Type in the boxes of Segment
Descriptor / Subject and Segment Annotation and then press Save Annotation.
If Elapse Time doesn’t count, press Pause and then Play buttons to fix.
Normal Descripting Mode: Video plays at the beginning of the video in the next
annotation cycle.
Sequential Descripting Mode: Video plays at the previous mark out point in the
next annotation cycle.
12. Repeat step 11 for further annotation, however you may select the previous
entered descriptor from the pull down menu if you find the descriptor is relevant.
When annotation is finished for this video, press Close Window to exit.
13. In [ Video Analysis Suite ], there are three types of search for annotation, i.e.
Keyword, Video and Descriptor search. For example, select the video from the
pull-down menu and press Video, a full list of annotations for this video will be listed.
You may also play the individual segments, edit or delete the annotation.
Dissemination, feedbacks and responses for video annotation:
After initiating your search, you may generate a report in PDF format just by clicking
Generate PDF. Save this PDF on your local hard-disk or you may e-mail this
document to the recipient you want to share.
Recipient can view the segment by just clicking the link Click here to view
segment.
Response or feedback for this segment could be send to originator by clicking
the link Click here to feedback.
Recipient sends feedback to originator:
Enter comment, name and corresponding password in the relevant boxes, and
then press Submit to send.
Authorized password is set as feedback_xxxxx where xxxxx is the user id of the
originator.
Originator views and responses the feedback:
1. Click View Feedback for that video segment
2. Within [ Video Analysis Feedback Page ], you may response or modify annotation
by selecting appropriate radio button or even delete particular feedbacks.
