What Is Day Camp? Can I Come With A Friend?

What Is Day Camp?
At day camp girls participate in outdoor skills,
try new activities, work in groups and make new
friends. Girls are placed in groups with
approximately 12-14 other girls their age, 2 adult
leaders, and caddies (older girl helpers.) Our day
camp will include exploring nature, swimming,
canoeing, cooking out, archery, crafts, and
activities around our “Down Under” theme. Girls in
grades 4-6 will also have the opportunity to
sleep overnight in tents on Thursday night.

Who Can Go To Day Camp?
Girls entering grades 1-7 (Fall 2014) are

category. Click “Girl member Registration 20132014” and print form. On page 2 check
“Independent” because you do not need a troop
and add “day camp” for participation. You can
leave the rest blank. Mail this and separate $15
check along with day camp forms.
Can I Come With A Friend?
Yes! Two friends may register together as

100% VOLUNTEER RUN
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Parents or registered Girl Scout adults can enjoy
day camp along with the girls!
Our camp is staffed, organized, and led entirely by
volunteers who help the girls have fun, learn new
skills, and make new friends. We rely totally on
parent/adult volunteers to be group leaders, help
out with activities and provide sibling care. Day
camp activities are pre-set so all the leaders have
to do is supervise the girls and help the girls
complete them. The older girl caddies offer
support in leading the girls in songs and games
and outdoor cooking.
Volunteers are asked to attend an orientation
meeting approximately 2 weeks before camp.
* All Adult volunteers need to be registered as
an adult Girl Scout member. New members need
to get a free back ground check. An online general
Girl Scout orientation is also provided. To renew or
register as a new member go to
www.girlscoutsrv.org. For questions about this
process you may contact Jacki Schrab.
Adult volunteers can bring the whole
family. Sibling care is provided.
Children infant to five years old can come to
camp for $45 per child for the week.
A fun Boys Group is available for ages 6-12 for
$45 per boy for the week.
What is a “Caddie”?
Caddies are girls in grades 7-12 who help at
camp in various ways depending on their age,
training, and experience. There are three
levels of caddies:
-Junior Caddies (entering 7th grade+)
-Caddies (entering 8th grade+)
-Senior Caddies (High School girls with
more experience and training.)
Girls entering 7th grade in the fall may help
out as Junior Caddies if they wish. They must
have completed the Program Aide Training and
Junior Caddie Training to do so. Sign up ASAP
for these trainings at www.girlscoutsrv.org
because they fill fast. Type in “Junior caddie
training” and “Program Aide training” in the
search box to get times and dates to register.
Girls entering 8th grade or above in the fall
who want to caddie need to complete Caddie
training. Sign up on the web site. Type “Caddie
training” in the search box to get times and dates
to register. Register ASAP. Trainings fill fast.
There is also a Senior Caddie training offered for
those who want to take on more responsibility.
All girls interested in being caddies should
contact Bernadette Valento, directly by email at
[email protected] for further information.
