What is the Multi-Sector Skills Training (MuST) Programme?
Must is a spcialized craft-training programme that seeks to develop a cadre of competent
workers within priority sectors of the national economy.
Who does the MuST Programme target?
The MuST Programme targets nationals between the ages of 18 to 50 years who are:

Unemployed
Motivated to achieve
Differently-abled
Re-entrants into productive society
Displaced workers
What is the duration of the Programme?
The MuST Programme is a six (6) month long training programme for Level 1 training
(tradesman assistant) and nine (9) months for Level 2 training (specialized worker).
How is the Programme designed?
Trainees spend 4 days per week on actual job sites throughout Trinidad and Tobago and 1 day
per week at off-site centers where they undergo life skills, literacy, numeracy and employability
skills training.
What are the areas of Construction Training provided?
The MuST Programme exposes trainees to and certifies them in the following occupational
areas at Level 1:

General Construction
At Level 2, trainees undergo specialized skilled training in the areas of:

What are the Areas of Hospitality and Tourism Training?
The MuST Programme exposes individuals to general hospitality and tourism occupations. The
programme provides training and certification in occupational areas such as:

Food Preparation
Food and Beverage Service
Property Upkeep
House Keeping
Front Desk Operations
What will the Ministry Provide for Trainees?
- A Technology Instructor/ Assessor to provide supervisory management and assessment
services.
- Basic hand tools and equipment
- Personal Protection Equipment
- Insurance Coverage over training period
- A daily stipend over the training period
- Life skills, literacy, numeracy and employability skills training.
Trainees will be allowed to keep the hand tools and personal protection equipment upon
successful completion of the programme.
What Certification will Trainees Receive?
Trainees will be assessed for competence to ensure that they meet the requirements of the
National Occupational Standards (NOS) for the granting of unit awards leading to the Caribbean
Vocational Qualification (CVQ) awarded by the National Training Agency (NTA)
Where are the Training Sites Located?
The MuST Programme is divided into 5 main regions:

and trainees are placed based on the region in which they live. The Ministry of Science,
Technology and Tertiary Education houses the programme's main head office
