What is the Faith & Fitness initiative?

What is the Faith & Fitness Initiative?
The Faith & Fitness Initiative allows any eligible faith-based
organization to become a ViSalus™ Basic Promoter at no
cost. As a Promoter, the organization can positively impact
its community by introducing healthy food options that help
fight obesity through better nutrition—while fundraising at
the same time. The faith-based Promoter can purchase
nutritional products for its parishioners or donate nutritious
food products through the Vi-Community Challenge, both of
which earn royalties that can be used to order more product
or donations, fund community programs or support other
organization needs.
What is the difference between
the Faith & Fitness Initiative and
the Vi-Community Challenge?
The Faith & Fitness Initiative and the Vi-Community
Challenge are two separate programs. The Faith &
Fitness Initiative offers faith-based organizations a no-cost
opportunity to become ViSalus Basic Promoters, making
them eligible to purchase products, make food donations
through the Vi-Community Challenge and receive royalties
on both—funds that can be used to support other needs and
activities. The enrollment process for a FBO is the same as
for any Basic Promoter, and once approved, the faith-based
Promoter will be added to its sponsor’s downline.
The Vi-Community Challenge allows anyone to donate
Vi-Shape® Shakes and Nutra-Cookies™ to disadvantaged
kids and families, then doubles every donation through
ViSalus Matched Giving. More than 165 food banks and
youth programs are ViSalus Charity Partners, approved to
receive Community Challenge donations. To sponsor a faithbased organization as a ViSalus Charity Partner, complete
the online Charity Application in the Vi-Net® back office.
If approved, your sponsored organization will be eligible to
receive shake and cookie donations through the Vi-Community
Challenge, but it will NOT be added to your downline.
Who can participate in Faith & Fitness?
Any 501c3 tax-exempt faith-based organization may
participate in the Faith & Fitness Initiative.
Is the Faith & Fitness Initiative available
to all non-profits?
Any 501c3 tax-exempt charity is eligible to sign up as a nonprofit Promoter and receive tax advantages; however, only faithbased non-profits will have the $49 Basic Promoter fee waived.
What is the difference between a Faith &
Fitness Basic Promoter account versus a
regular Basic Promoter account?
The $49 Basic Promoter fee is waived for the Faith &
Fitness Basic Promoter account, but all benefits—the
opportunity to purchase products, make donations, earn
royalties, bonuses and 3 for Free, etc.—are identical to
those enjoyed by other Basic Promoters. Because the faithbased organization is a non-profit, ViSalus will not issue a
1099 (or a T4A in Canada). All faith-based non-profits are
responsible for filing their own taxes.
Why should my faith-based organization be
involved in a “corporate” program?
At ViSalus, our goal is to leave the world a better (and healthier) place
than we found it. Joining the fight against obesity is part of that. We believe
our mission complements the values of many faith-based and non-profit
organizations… and benefits their communities as well.
How can a faith-based organization raise money
through Faith & Fitness?
ViSalus pays a royalty for all donations and product
purchases. A faith-based Promoter can use its royalty
monies to fund additional donations or support other
activities of the organization’s choice.
How are the royalties paid out?
All shake and cookie donations or product purchases
over $200 earn a 5%–25% royalty, based on volume,
with purchases and donations exceeding $2,501 earning
the maximum payout percentage. Product purchases
count for 100% QV and 100% BV, while Vi-Community
Challenge donations count for 100% QV and 50% BV.
Because ViSalus Matched Giving doubles donations made
through the Community Challenge, the BV is adjusted
correspondingly to reflect the donor contribution. For
example, a $4,000 donation made through the Community
Challenge will earn $500 in royalties. A $4,000 product
purchase will earn $1000 in royalties. A detailed Royalty
Payout Chart is available in the Faith & Fitness Brochure,
available at www.faithfitfacebook.info.
How does Faith & Fitness benefit
the Promoter who signs up a
faith-based organization?
Can faith-based Promoters
enroll Promoters and
Customers and
create downlines?
Yes. The process for signing up
Promoters and Customers is identical
for all Basic Promoters. Once a faithbased organization signs up as a
Basic Promoter, people can enroll as
Promoters or Customers under that account. If the FBO gets
three Customers to purchase Challenge Kits, the FBO would
receive a kit for free. The royalty payment would go directly
to the FBO.
Why do faith-based organizations need a credit
card number to enroll?
Although the $49 Promoter fee to join is waived for faithbased organizations, they will need to provide a credit card
to purchase products and cover the annual account renewal.
Will a faith-based Promoter be charged the $25
annual account renewal fee?
Yes. The initial $49 fee is waived, but all other Basic
Promoter benefits and fees apply.
Does a faith-based organization have to purchase
or donate a minimum amount of products each
month to stay Active?
As stated in the compensation plan, the faith-based
Promoter must have $125 of PQV per month to remain
Active. All customers enrolled by the FBO can quality
towards the FBO’s PQV.
The enrollment plan works exactly the same for all Basic
Promoters. The same rules apply. When a Promoter signs
up a faith-based organization, he or she will receive the
Is a faith-based organization charged a penalty
if it doesn’t meet the $125 PQV minimum each
month?
Is Basic Promoter the only level
available for a faith-based or
non-profit organization?
Faith-based Promoters are not charged a penalty for failing
to meet the monthly $125 PQV minimum; however, any
faith-based Promoter that is not Active one month will not
earn any royalty on donations and products purchased from
their website the next month.
same benefits offered for signing up any Basic Promoter.
No. Faith-based organizations and non-profits can sign up
for the Executive or Star Promoter System, but they are
required to purchase it.
Can the royalties be put on a faith-based
Promoter’s prosperity card?
Yes. Participating faith-based Promoters are eligible for
a ViSalus prosperity card (a credit card to which royalty
funds can be credited), though it will be issued to the faithbased organization’s primary contact and not in the FBO’s
name. Faith-based Promoters can use the card balance to
purchase additional items for their organization.
How does a faith-based organization sign up for
the Faith & Fitness Initiative?
Faith-based organizations must fax or email a completed
ViSalus Independent Promoter (VIP) Application Form
and Non-Profit Enrollment Form, along with 501c3
documentation, to ViSalus. Step-by-step instructions are
provided in the Promoter Guidelines, available at
www.faithfitfacebook.info.
Are any other types of paperwork required?
In addition to the 501c3, additional paperwork may be
required, including certificates, articles of organization,
articles of incorporation, etc., depending on the faith-based
organization’s structure. Incomplete applications will not be
processed until all proper documentation is received.
What if a faith-based organization does not have
a 501c3?
If a faith-based organization has multiple branches, ViSalus
will accept a 501c3 letter from the organization’s head or
home office, even if individual branches do not have their
own 501c3.
If a faith-based organization’s contact is already
a ViSalus Promoter, can he or she represent the
FBO as its primary contact?
Yes. Since a person authorized to act on behalf of a nonprofit organization is not an owner of it and does not benefit
financially from that organization, that person is permitted to
have both an individual Promoter account and serve as the
primary contact for a faith-based organization.
How are a faith-based organization’s donations
managed?
ViSalus will provide a free Giving Website for each faithbased organization, allowing it to direct Customers to the
site’s URL to make donations. Product purchases can
be made through the organization’s Promoter
(username.bodybyvi.com) website. Product donations will be
shipped directly to the FBO’s designated charity or food bank.
Are Faith & Fitness donations eligible for ViSalus
Matched Giving?
Yes. Every faith-based promoter can donate through the
Vi-Community Challenge and that donation is automatically
matched shake for shake or cookie for cookie via the
ViSalus Matched Giving Program. A $24 donation provides
30 kid-sized Vi-Shape® Shake meals, which is doubled to a
full pouch of 60 meals for a child in need. An $18 donation
provides a box of 14 protein-rich Chocolate Chip NutraCookies™. There is no limit to how much a person can give
or how much ViSalus will match.
Can ViSalus ship product donations directly to
the faith-based organization instead of to its
charity of choice?
If the faith-based organization has a food pantry or program
that feeds hungry children and families, and would like
to receive ViSalus product donations, the FBO can apply
online to be a ViSalus Charity Partner. Once approved, the
FBO can receive direct shipment of donations.
What if my faith-based organization wants to collect donations
over a few months, instead of monthly?
Faith-based Promoters may choose to collect donations for two or more months
and submit them as one donation to receive a larger royalty. In this case,
faith-based Promoters should advise Customers to donate directly to the FBO,
instead of ordering through the Giving Website, and the FBO contact should
combine the funds into one donation after the collection period ends.
Can ViSalus products and donations be shipped to missionaries
and charities in other countries?
ViSalus products can only be shipped to charities within the United States
and Canada. Because ViSalus products, including our Vi-Shape® Shake Mix
and Nutra-Cookies™, are currently registered in the U.S. and Canada only,
they cannot be shipped or transported internationally by any Promoter or
organization at this time. We are unable to donate to charities or Disaster Relief
Efforts that want to distribute our food donations in other countries until we
register and expand into those other markets.
Where can I find more information on the
Vi-Community Challenge?
Detailed information is available in the Vi-Net back office. Go to the Challenge
drop-down on the Vi-Net main navigation bar and click on the Vi-Community
Challenge option. You’ll find a list of downloadable items, including a Program
Overview and a ViSalus Charity Partners Brochure, as well as a list of current
ViSalus Charity Partners. From that page, you can also request a new charity or
make a donation through the drop-down Charity Selection Process.
