O’Connor Hospital (OCH), a 358-bed, acute care
facility, offers a full range of medical, surgical
and specialty programs. These include women’s
and children’s services; cardiology and cardiac
rehab; oncology; orthopedic services; vascular
care; advanced medical imaging; emergency
care; and a Wound Care Clinic with 18 private
rooms and state-of-the-art equipment that offers
the latest in hyperbaric medicine.
Saint Louise Regional Hospital (SLRH) is a 93-bed
acute care facility that has been providing the
growing communities of south Santa Clara County
and north San Benito County with many distinct
programs and services since 1989. We have the
busiest emergency department in the county, with
CALSTAR emergency helicopter transport on the
premises. SLRH also provides the latest minimally
invasive surgical procedures available today;
general medicine covering specialties that are not
often seen in a small community hospital; maternal
and child health services; and wound care and
hyperbaric medicine with two hyperbaric oxygen
chambers on site. There are more than 170
highly trained physicians on staff at Saint Louise.
Founded as Mary’s Help Hospital in 1893, Seton
Medical Center serves the people of San Francisco
and San Mateo Counties with a comprehensive
range of inpatient and outpatient health care
services. We are committed to providing quality
care to the sick, poor and underserved. Our
delivery of health care is guided by a strong
commitment to treating the whole person – body,
mind and spirit.
Founded in 1889 and named for our benefactors,
Judge Myles O’Connor and his wife Amanda,
OCH began as “a sanitarium for the sick, a home
for the aged, an asylum for orphans and a
school for children.” Today, we are the only
Catholic hospital in San Jose.
Guided by our values-driven Mission of providing
compassionate care to the whole person, body,
mind and spirit, staff are committed to excellence
and the highest quality that demonstrates to
patients, families and our community that we are
the best place in San Jose to receive health care
and to work.
The Joint Commission awarded O’Connor Hospital
the Gold Seal of Approval as a Primary Stroke
Center. Additionally, O’Connor is certified by
The Joint Commission as a Center of Excellence
for Hip Replacement and Knee Replacement. Our
Emergency Department features 21 beds, boardcertified physicians and specialty-trained nurses.
OCH is home to the only Family Medicine
residency program in the area, affiliated with
Stanford University.
In keeping with the Mission of the Daughters
of Charity to provide care to those who need
it most, we sponsor the Pediatric Center for
Life, the Family Health Center Residency Clinic, a
Parish Nursing program, Meals on Wheels and
many other community health initiatives.
Our BreastCare Center, located in a private suite
on campus, provides mammography and advanced methods of cancer detection. The center
also offers bone-density screening and an
up-to-date reference library. SLRH has some of the
most advanced diagnostic equipment available,
including the state-of-the-art 64-slice CT scanner,
magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound,
nuclear medicine and CADS, a computer-aided
detection system that aids Radiologists in reading
mammograms.
Committed to being the center for health and
healing in the community, we strive to increase
community outreach and health education. We
offer Diabetes Education classes in both Spanish
and English; an outpatient Nutritional Counseling
Program; and many other classes and support
groups. SLRH also sponsors community events
such as the annual Gilroy Garlic Festival and the
Morgan Hill Health and Wellness Fair.
SLRH offers free health screenings at various
locations and businesses, and provides flu shots
to seniors free of charge.
Being a values-driven organization, we are
committed to ministering to those we serve
with compassion and dignity. Today, our fully
accredited, not-for-profit, 357-bed facility, with
over 500 physicians, offers the most advanced
medical/surgical procedures, treatment options
and comprehensive health care services available.
The San Francisco Heart & Vascular Institute, a
Center of Excellence at Seton, has been recognized by major insurance carriers for “expertise
and institutional commitment in providing integrated cardiac care that meets high standards.”
Seton Medical Center provides advanced
medical programs in many specialties, and our
cornerstone services include the San Francisco
Spine Institute, orthopedics and joint replacement,
robotic surgery, and oncology, each with clinical
outcomes among the best in the nation.
In keeping with the Daughters of Charity
Mission to provide quality, accessible health care
services to our community, our St. Elizabeth Ann
Seton New Life Center offers a comprehensive
perinatal program to low-income women.
After 110 years of caring, Seton’s medical
staff and associates are committed to clinical
excellence and creating a healthier community,
combining innovative technology with
heartfelt care.

Coastside is known for its exemplary 116-bed
skilled nursing facility, which is home to elderly
and chronically ill residents. Their dedicated
health care team provides comprehensive care
that is both compassionate and attentive to the
whole person – body, mind and spirit.
St. Francis Medical Center (SFMC) is the only
comprehensive, nonprofit health care institution
serving the 1.2 million residents of southeast Los
Angeles, a densely populated and underserved
community. Our 384-bed hospital, with more than
2,000 associates and 350 affiliated physicians,
offers a full range of diagnostic and treatment
services, and an array of social services and
educational programs.
Providing compassionate health care for those who
need hope and healing has been our mission at
St. Vincent Medical Center (SVMC) for more than
153 years. Located in downtown Los Angeles,
St. Vincent is a world-renowned, 366-bed,
state-of-the-art facility offering comprehensive
medical services, including acute, tertiary and
primary care. Residents of the Los Angeles region,
as well as individuals from around the globe,
seek out our hospital’s high-quality services in
general orthopedics; multi-organ transplantations;
joint replacement; cancer treatment; minimally
invasive cardiovascular services; neurosurgery;
and the renowned House Ear Institute service.
With more than 1,200 associates and a medical
staff of more than 450 physicians, we are
committed to caring for the whole person – body,
mind and spirit.
Seton Coastside takes pride in operating the
only 24-hour standby Emergency Department
on the coast from Daly City to Santa Cruz. Additionally, it provides its residents and the coastal
community with quality outpatient services such
as physical, occupational and speech therapies,
radiology/mammography and clinical laboratory.
At the forefront of addressing the area’s health
care needs, the Seton Coastside community outreach programs offer assistance to both local and
underserved populations. Seton Coastside is one
of the sponsors of the Coastside RotaCare Clinic,
providing free medical care to the underinsured
and uninsured. Annually, Seton Coastside ,
along with members of the Community Advisory
Committee, sponsors its Teddy Bear Clinic,
designed to alleviate childhood fears of receiving
medical treatment.
Seton Coastside has received a number of awards
including the California Hospital Association’s
Ritz-E. Heerman Award for its excellent patient
care; the California HealthCare Association’s
Continuing Care’s Best Practice Award for the
therapeutic “Touch Program”; the National Nursing
Satisfaction Award from the Jackson Survey Group;
and the Waste Reduction Awards Program (WRAP)
award from the California Integrated Waste
Management Board (CIWMB) as one of the top
five companies in California for outstanding efforts
to recycle and reduce non-hazardous waste.
Guided by the Mission of the Daughters of Charity
of St. Vincent de Paul, we provide compassionate
patient and family-centered care. With more than
65,000 patients annually, we operate one of the
county’s largest and busiest Emergency/Trauma
Centers. Our Family Life Center, with more than
7,000 births each year, is supported by a Gestational Diabetic Clinic, a Neonatal Intensive Care
Unit, and Pediatric Health Unit. Our Center for
Heart and Vascular Medicine offers a full range
of imaging services including state-of-the-art CT
Angiography. We also house specialized centers
for Women’s Imaging, Behavioral Health, and
Wound Care.
Community service programs include five
Maternal, Pediatric and Family Health Clinics;
two Children’s Counseling Centers; a Health
Benefits Resource Center; Casa de Esperanza
transitional housing; “Footprints” shoes and
clothing for families; and numerous senior
wellness and youth mentoring programs.
Healthy Community Initiatives bring screenings,
immunizations, and education to more than
15,000 adults and children annually, and Vida
Sana “Healthy Life” provides a heart health program through area churches. St. Francis Career
College offers health care career training on
campuses in Lynwood and San Jose.
Recognizing the important connection between
faith, family, and healing, we embrace cultural
diversity celebrating events such as Martin Luther
King Jr. Day and Our Lady of Guadalupe feast day.
We offer an array of services tailored to specific
needs in Los Angeles, including: dialysis and wound
care; transfusion-free services; and screening,
immunization, and treatment of chronic hepatitis B
infection. Our internal medicine program provides
full-service treatment for adults and seniors who
suffer from acute and chronic conditions.
St. Vincent Medical Center’s medical excellence
is complemented by our community outreach
programs, which offer health screenings, diabetes
education, after-school activities and other services
targeting high-risk populations. The St. Vincent
Multicultural Health Awareness and Prevention
Center focuses on health education, disease prevention and referral services for the underserved
ethnic communities in central Los Angeles. Our
Health Benefits Resource Center reaches out to
people without health insurance to help them
qualify for available coverage.
St. Vincent Medical Center creates alliances with
local social benefits associations, such as the
Korean American Federation of Los Angeles, to
promote health awareness and access to care for
people in the vicinity of the hospital and beyond.
