Due to high demand, this program has expanded and is now linked to Advanced Placement Courses. Runnymede CI offers students specialized programs that include the Masters, Pre-Advanced Placement and Advanced Placement (AP) programs. We offer a range of Advanced Placement courses in most subject areas. Award-winning robotics team – 70 members strong – traditionally excels at the North American FIRST Robotics Challenge. The Team mentors elementary schools in FIRST Lego League. A rich history of athletics with more than 20 teams each year, including basketball, soccer, volleyball, hockey, track and field and swimming. Both teams and individuals have won many regional and district championships and competed in OFSAA Provincial Championships. Masters of Math, Science and Technology The Masters of Math, Science & Technology (MMST) is a distinctive program in Toronto. Students who are motivated to study Engineering, Pre-Med, Math or Physics at university should consider this specialized Runnymede Collegiate program. MMST students will benefit from : • a small, team-study approach from Grades 9 to 12 • the ability to “reach ahead” and take more upper year pre-university courses • the opportunity to participate in national and provincial-ranked Math/Science competitions • presentation of a Masters Certificate and plaque upon completion Advanced Placement Program Masters oﬀers an enrichment Program for high achieving students in 3 areas: Mathematics, Science and Technology. Students in grades 9 to 11 will follow the Pre-AP curriculum for most subjects and then take the Advanced Placement courses in grade 12. These Pre-AP and AP curricula are internationally recognized as excellent preparation for university programs all over the world. All high-achieving students have the opportunity to take AP courses. Enriched & Integrated Math, English, Science & Technology Programs This curriculum enhancement, oﬀered to Grade 9, 10 and 11 academic students, blends five disciplines to challenge students with innovative thinking in the fields of robotics, bio-technology, biochemistry and software development. Oﬀering enhanced points of study including: • Designing, constructing and programming robots • Bacterial transformation and cloning • DNA fingerprinting using gel electrophoresis This program integrates arts and science to further innovative thinking and excellence in education. The Masters, Pre-AP and AP programs are all outstanding opportunities for students to enhance their abilities, enrich their academic skills and prepare for the challenges of university studies.
