Q. Why is it important to have a microporous
coating on color separation film?
A. Microporous coating technology provides higher ink absorption resulting in higher density and
a faster drying time. Microporous coatings differ
from smooth coatings in that there are an infinite
number of “pores” where the ink can embed itself
in the coating.
Q. Why does a user need waterproof film?
A. The film can be reused to reburn screens and
also protects against accidental spills.
Q. Do different screens, such as stochastic or
traditional dot centered rosettes, work well
with dMax 4?
A. There are no issues with different types of
screens as long as the film has been linearized
properly.
Q. What type of inks can be used with dMax 4?
A. GO’s dMax 4 works with both OEM piezo and
thermal inks. For faster drying and higher density,
GO’s dMax HD and HS works best with dMax 4.

separations for their screens. There is
no need for a darkroom, processor or
chemicals to process the film.

GO’s dMax 4 film for the screen print
market uses its new Opticoat technology. GO’s Opticoat technology is comprised
of a six level coating process, starting with a
4 mil polyester base to make up the six layer
process. Four additional steps on the recipient
side (density primer, absorption layer for dot
control, waterproof layer and microporous coat-
ing) along with an antistatic coating on the reverse side of the film, make up the remainder. The
exclusive OptiCoat really makes a differences to screen printers who demand quality screens.

dMax 4 HS and GO dMax 4 HD--High Speed and High Density
Achieving high resolution, high density printing on inkjet film has never been easier for screen printers. Graphics One is now pleased to offer new formulated dMax 4 ink types specifically for color
separation and film positive printing on GO’s award winning dMax 4 film.
GO dMax 4 HS ink for High Speed Imaging--GO dMax 4 HS, for High Speed, is a black dye ink
formulated for those who are in a high production environment and need high speed imaging. Offering very good densities in excess of 3.2 on dMax 4 film, the major feature of this ink is to image
film at a much higher speed. With instant drying, little dot gain and very good density, dMax 4 HS
is being used in both screen printing and traditional offset with GO’s dMax 4 film.
GO dMax 4 HD for High Density--GO dMax
4 HD, for High Density, is a black pigment ink
which offers outstanding density and also can
be used for imaging posters. We call the capability to image both screen positives and image
full color posters, DuoBlack. Users who require
the highest film densities, in excess of 3.7, and
who require the ability to print full color without
changing the ink sets, will need dMax 4 HD ink.
