Nevertheless, Shefet’s wink transcends .‫אם על זו הנותרת סגורה ומביטה פנימה באמונה‬ ‫הציורים בתערוכה צומחים ממרחב הביניים שבין הראליסטי‬ ‫והאילוסטרטיבי ובכך הם בוחנים דיכוטומיות שונות כגון הילדותי‬ ‫ אם הגדרות לכאורה סותרות‬,‫ השכלתני והרגשי‬,‫ החופשי והמוקפד‬,‫והבוגר‬ .‫אלה הן בכלל הפכים‬ the ironic - the emphasis is not on the open eye, which looks outwards with irony, but rather on the closed eye, which looks inwards with belief. ‫‏‬Amir Shefet’s work grows out of the magical space between the realistic and the illustrative, which enables him to ‫המפגש בין השפות הציוריות המנוגדות מגיע לידי זיקוק בסדרת הציורים‬ explore multiple dichotomies; the child - the adult, ‫ בסדרה זו אפשר לשמוע‬.‫האפורה אשר יש לה מקום מיוחד בגוף עבודות זה‬ freedom - control, emotion - intellect, as if these essences ‫ קאנון של שני קולות‬- ‫בבהירות את הקאנון שמצוי מאחורי גוף עבודות זה‬ were ever truly opposed. .‫אשר האחד הומוריסטי ומשחקי ואילו השני פואטי ואף מורבידי‬ ‫‏‬The collision between these “opposed” painterly languages is epitomized in the ‘Grey Series’, which marks a special place in Shefet’s oeuvre.
