It's a chance for each child to meet other children who have also experienced a burn injury. How much does camp cost? NOTHING! Camp is sponsored by the Burn Advocates Network through the generosity of its supporters. Who can attend IBCC? Camp is for any child, ages 7-17 years old who has sustained a severe burn injury which required hospitalization. We will decide which children will benefit the most from attending camp. What about transportation to camp? Transportation will be arranged from the major burn centers included Schneiders, Rambam and Soroka Hospital. Where is IBCC? Camp is held at the beautiful Kibutz Eilot, just outside of Eilat. What activities will my child participate in at camp? Campers participate in a variety of activities including swimming, boating, beach, games, arts and crafts, cosmetology, fun and character building activities. What’s for lunch? Campers receive three nutritious meals each day and a snack. Most of the counselors are adult burn survivors, healthcare professionals, burn care staff, firefighters and/or Burn Advocate or Simcha Layeled Volunteers. All of our staff has been carefully screened and we maintain approximately a 1:1 camper/counselor ratio. The IBCC Music Program A Performance They will Never Forget When is camp? Camp is held every year before Passover during the spring recess. What about my child's special medical needs? I can’t wait to go back to burn camp in my country.” Our music program is truly unique in collaboration with American and Israeli music teachers and music therapists we have developed a program which enables novices to play string and percussion instruments the first time they pick them up. We have selected the strumstick with adaptive pick to enable children with missing or badly injured hands to fully participate. Our rhythm circle will be a burn camp first, campers will play a variety of drums, shakers, and sticks and will sample Israeli, Arabic, Latin and African beats as they re-enforce their bonds playing together.
