Njinga’s Sample weekend Itinerary
Welcome to our cycle weekend. We hope you enjoy the experience.
Friday
Arrive from 18h30 onwards
Drinks From 19h00: Welcome Superfood Cocktail with a twist on arrival.
Bike Inspection: A ride captain will review your bike to ensure everything is in order for
tomorrow’s ride. Please ensure your bike is fully serviced before attending the cycle weekend so
you get the most out of the weekend and don’t hold your other riders up.
Dinner approx. 20h30: Delicious, healthy 3 Course meal to aid cycling performance will be served.
Those with allergy issues have been taken care of so you can relax and enjoy the weekend with us!
Ride Briefing 22h00: Review Saturday’s cycle route, terrain, attractions, potential water & lunch
stops on route and go over all safety issues.
Relax or Bed 22h30
We will collect your Team Njinga water bottles before dinner so we can prepare your hydration
liquids for the Saturday ride. Those who are new to Team Njinga will have their bottles sorted and
prepared in advance.
Saturday
Early Risers: Herbal tea (& coffee) will be available in the kitchen pre breakfast.
Breakfast 07h00: Energy packed breakfast with optional power smoothie and homemade
superfood granola, freshly squeezed orange juice.
Ride Fluids & Food: Team Njinga water bottle will be filled and ready for collection at breakfast
with 2 natural energy bars and banana. All energy bars are wheat and gluten free.
Collect Bikes 08h25: Your tyres will be pumped and chain oiled in advance of collection.
Ride Safety Briefing 08h30: Will go over group riding techniques, signals, and general
communication amongst riders and ride leader commands.
Bike & Helmet Safety Check 08h35: Will do full M check on bike and check helmets are secure.
Water Stop: We will stop for water after about 40kms.
Lunch Stop: We will stop for a pub lunch on route after about 60-70km (weather permitting) so
please ensure you have enough cash and a bank card (weather permitting).
Post Lunch: Approx. 30km ride home with a potential water stop (subject to time & weather
permitting)
Arrive Home: Late afternoon, leave bikes with Njinga team and then shower or jump into the hot
tub.
Post Ride Snacks: Post ride recovery snacks will be available in the kitchen so please help yourself.
Fancy Dress From 19h00: get into your 70’s outfit and get ready to party! 70’s tunes will be playing
pre dinner.
Dinner approx. 20h30: Nutritious post ride barbie (subject to weather conditions) to aid muscle
recovery and lower post exercise inflammation.
Dinner Games: A few dinner games are planned during and post dinner.
Retire at your leisure to bed.
Sunday

Monday
Early Risers: Herbal tea (& coffee) will be available in the kitchen pre breakfast.
Brunch 10h45: Delicious array of healthy foods and juices will be available including fruit,
pancakes, granola, muesli, frittatas, etc.
Departure 12h30: We will have your bikes cleaned and ready to take home in advance. Please let
us know if you plan to leave early on Sunday or Monday so we can have your bike ready.
