1. Sit half way to the back of the bench. Slide forward until your feet are flat on the floor, or stool. Hold arms out straight
and make a fist. Adjust the bench until your fists touch the back of the keys without reaching or bending your elbow.
2. Put the palms of your hands together. Slightly curve your fingers until only your fingertips touch each other.
3. Do the “Finger Workout” above. Are you keeping a slight curve in your fingers with only your fingertips touching?
4. Turn your hands over, keeping the slight finger curve. Only fingertips touch the keys. Thumbs play by the nail’s edge.
5. Hands, wrists, and forearms are level. Elbows are away from your sides with relaxed shoulders. Look like this as you play.
