Thiscourseisdesignedtostimulatestudentlearningthroughacyberspacelearning
approachovertheinternetutilizingrequiredreadings,experientiallearning
activities,andstudentpresentations.Adultlearningprinciplesareusedasthebasis
forthedesignoftheteachingstrategies,learningactivitiesandassignments.
Nursingtheoryisexploredthroughanelectioncampaign.Anursingsystemsclinical
mapgivesthestudentanopportunitytoapplySelf‐careTheorytotherealworldof
nursingpractice.Aformalpaperisdevelopedaroundanursingprofessionalissueof
thestudentschoice.Criticalthinkingstrategiesareintegratedthroughoutthecourse
anddebateisincludedtodevelopanalyticalskillsandtobroadenviesof
controversialtopics.Someassignmentsaresubmittedviae‐mailtothefaculty;
othersarepostedonthegroupdiscussionboard,assignmentdropbox.
