The RSPCA condemns the shooting
of a cat with an airgun in a Devonshire

been shot after taking him to a
veterinary surgery.
A social media site which helps dog
owners find their lost pets wins a national
award from the RSPCA. ‘Facebark’ was
set up by Middlesbrough Council’s dog
warden service, and won one of the
RSPCA’s Community Animal Welfare
Footprints (CWF) Innovator Awards.
A survey of over 11,000 pet owners
finds that Britain is facing an
epidemic of overweight pets who
are fed junk food. The PDSA warns
that up to 12 million cats, dogs and
rabbits are being given “’treats’ of
takeaways, crisps, cheese and
cakes on a daily basis which are a
diet disaster for the animals”.
