1. Introduction
Welcome to FacePhi SDK 5.1.1 installation manual.
In this guide you will find all necessary information to correctly install and uninstall the
product. Please, remember that you can submit any inquiry to FacePhi through the
information you will find at “Contact Information”.
2. Installation
Please, double-click on “FacePhiLauncher” in order to launch the installation assistant.
The installation assistant will prompt you to provide administrator
permissions in order to proceed.
The first important requirement is to have “Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 x86
Redistributable” package in order to run some SDK libraries.

If you do not meet first requirement, the following screen will be displayed:

If you already have this component installed, you will get the following welcome screen:

This screen allows two actions:


Install FacePhi’s software
Uninstall any existing version of FacePhi’s software in the system
In case there is no conflict with different versions of FacePhi’s software, the installer will
permit you to install the new software on the device.
If there is a previous version of the product already installed, the installer will indicate that a
previous version has been found and it will be mandatory to remove this version.

When you click on “Uninstall”, the following screen will be displayed. If you continue, an
automatic process will start in order to remove the previous version detected in the system.

When the user confirms the message, the uninstallation process starts and it removes the
previous product.

Once this process has been completed, you will be able to install the new SDK version (Figure
1).
First of all, the screen of the installer is displayed.
Please, remember that you must have administrator permissions in order to
proceed with the installation.

Please, click on “Next” in order to proceed with the configuration process of the installation.
Important: In case you have any antivirus installed, we recommend you to
disable it during the installation process in order to avoid possible problems.
In the form below, it is displayed the End User License Agreement (EULA). You must accept
the terms and conditions of this agreement in order to continue with the installation process.

After accepting this agreement, the installer will verify the application prerequisites.
Please, remember that .NET Framework 4.0 or greater version is a
prerequisite for FacePhi SDK 5.1.1. If you do not have it installed, you will not
be allowed to continue with this process. You should cancel the installation,
install .NET Framework 4.0 or greater version and restart the installer. You can
download the full version package (Redistributable package) by clicking on the
following link: http://www.microsoft.com/enus/download/confirmation.aspx?id=17851; or the version which requires
Internet connection during the installation process:

In case you have .NET Framework 4.0 or a greater version installed on your computer, the
following form will be displayed. You must confirm it and you will be able to proceed with the
installation:

Next, you must select the destination folder where you want to install the components of the
product:

Once you have selected the destination folder, you can choose the type of installation that
best suits your needs. Installation types available are shown here below:

Typical: it will deploy the components associated to extraction module, matching
module and documentation. It will be also installed a set of projects where FacePhi
SDK 5.1.1 is used as example. These examples are included in the folder that you have
chosen to install the SDK. If you install FacePhi SDK 5.1.1 in program files and you want
to compile the examples, your IDE (Integrated Development Environment) will prompt
you to restart with administrator permissions. As an alternative option, you can also
copy these sample projects to a path on disk which has the permissions required.

Custom: you can select the components to be installed.

In case you choose a “Custom” installation, a tree like the one shown below will be displayed
on the screen. From this tree, you can manually select the component of the application that
you wish to install:

Once you have chosen the components to install, you only have to confirm the installation
process, as shown in the following figure:

Clicking on “Install” will start the installation process. Depending on the chosen options and
the computer you are using, the time of installation may vary.
The system might prompt you to provide administrator permissions in order
to proceed.

Once the installation process has been completed, it will be displayed the screen of process
completed.

If you click on “Finish”, the installation of the product will be completed.

3. Uninstallation
In case you already have FacePhi SDK 5.1.1 installed on your computer, the system will allow
you to choose between removing and repairing this version:

If you select “Uninstall”, the system will remove all files of FacePhi software from your
computer and it will restart the installation. If you want to uninstall version 5.1.1 you will have
to confirm the following message:

After removing FacePhi SDK 5.1.1, the following message will be displayed indicating that the
process has been successfully completed:

4. Repair
If you select “Repair”, the system will launch the assistant in this mode:

You will be able to choose among the following options:

Change: it allows you to modify the components of FacePhi SDK 5.1.1 which are
already installed. From this menu, you can install new components that were not
deployed at the first installation. You can also remove components already installed:

Repair: it will fix errors that may have occurred during the latest installation process. It
will fix missed or corrupt files, shortcuts and log entries. You will get the following
screen:

Remove: it will remove all FacePhi SDK 5.1.1 files from your computer. Once you click
on “Remove”, the process will prompt you to confirm the operation:

If you decide to uninstall FacePhi SDK 5.1.1, a screen with a progress bar will be
displayed:

5. Activation Tool
To use the product supplied, you must activate it first. In order to do so, please, use
"FPhiSoftwareActivator" tool. For further information regarding its use and the activation
process, please, see "FPhi LM Software - Activation Guide"1.
This tool may be run after installing the product as shown in the image below.
