Health: You must be physically and psychologically capable of effectively undertaking the tasks you may be asked to do. Education: Formal academic qualifications are not essential but all applicants need to demonstrate that they have appropriate skills and abilities to perform the role of a Police Support Volunteer. Nationality & Residency: You must be a British citizen or a member of the EU. Commonwealth citizens and foreign nationals are also eligible but only if they are resident in the UK free of restrictions and can provide proof of this. You must have been resident in the UK for a period of 3 years prior to applying. Character: Only persons of good character will be accepted as you must respect and uphold the law. If you have been convicted or cautioned for any offence you may still be eligible for the role depending on the nature and circumstances of the offence. However, failure to disclose details will result in you not being able to become a Police Support Volunteer.
