Introduction
WelTec promotes lifelong learning and is committed to working with students to provide a
quality educational experience. This Student Code of Conduct sets out the standards and
principles that WelTec students are required to comply with, as part of maintaining an
atmosphere and environment that encourages learning and effective partnerships by
treating people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds, and the campus facilities and
environment, with respect and consideration.
It is not practicable to expressly provide for every possibility and eventuality in this Code
of Conduct. In addition, this Code of Conduct is a guide. WelTec reserves the right to
address any specific situation as it considers appropriate.
1
Scope
This policy applies to all students, on or off campus, on any course related activities, as
well as in respect of any other activity or conduct on the part of the student which could
impact on either the appropriateness of the student’s enrolment or on WelTec’s
operations, standing or reputation.
The Academic Regulations apply for academic misconduct.
2
Policy



The Student Code of Conduct is the expected standard of behaviour for students
while studying at WelTec.
The Student Code of Conduct is made available to students in hard copy at the
Learning Commons and at the commencement of their studies through access to
Student Information documents and electronically via the student intranet.
When required, disciplinary action is intended to be primarily educative and
secondarily to discourage reoccurrence. However, where appropriate, the
institution may decide to cancel the enrolment of a person as a student at WelTec,
or in a particular programme or scheme at the institution.
