Was your student too young or unable to attend? If you answered yes to either or these questions or simply understand the benefit of exposure to college opportunities, consider a road-trip to a regional college fair that will include A LOT more opportunities for exploration. RHOP (Rural Health Opportunity Program) is a joint effort between the Nebraska State College and the University of Nebraska Medical Center. It awards scholarships to high achieving students pursuing a health-related major (Clinical Laboratory Science, Dental Hygiene, Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant or Radiography are examples but th offerings may vary at different colleges) at either Wayne, Chadron or Peru State colleges. RHOP applications are due by Nov. 15 for st WSC and Dec. 1 for Chadron & Peru. This is a very competitive program which will waive recipients’ tuition and guarantee admission to the relevant UNMC program so get started early! The application process can be extensive.
