DO YOU NEED ASSISTANCE PAYING FOR MEDICARE PREMIUMS
OR PRESCRIPTION DRUG COSTS?
Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA) provides funding to help Medicare
beneficiaries apply for two valuable benefits:
1. Low Income Subsidy "Extra Help" – provides assistance to Medicare Part D beneficiaries in paying for
their monthly prescription drug costs.
2. Medicare Savings Programs - available through the state Medicaid agency, help consumers with low
incomes pay for their Medicare premiums.
Washoe County Senior Services can help consumers who are not currently receiving these
benefits apply for them.
Nevada's Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD), State Health Insurance Assistance Program
(SHIP) and Nevada's Care Connection (ADRC) have been working together to help find and enroll
individuals throughout the state.
MOBILE INFORMATION AND REFERRAL BEGINS IN OCTOBER
