Tullando Farm, Inc. a 550 r egister ed
Holstein cow family farm is located in the
Connecticut River Valley in Orford, New
Hampshire. Our rolling herd average is 27,000
pounds 986F 807P with somatic cell under120,000 on 3X milkings.
George and Barbara Tullar, purchased
the original farm in l956. Their son Rendell
and Karen, and their oldest two children Nathan and Emily with their families operate the
farm today.
In l993 a double ten Germania parlor
was built followed by a 6 row 340 cow barn in
l998, and a 5 row heifer barn was built in
1999. In the sprig of 2012 we built a 8 row
480 cow robotic milking facility. In July of
this year 8 Lely A4 robots will be installed. In
2013 the manure pit was redesigned and
lined. A Bauer manure separator was installed. A portion of the dry material is being
used as bedding for all the non-milking cattle. The milking herd is being bedded by kiln
-dried shavings twice per week.
The farm is comprised of 650 acres of
tillable land. Of this acreage 300 acres is used
for corn silage, 200 acres for alfalfa haylage and
150 acres for grass haylage. All forages are
stored in bunker silos. We have pasture land
available to graze the dry cows during the grow
season months.

The New England States Holstein Association, Inc.,
a nonprofit corporation, will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2014 beginning at 9:00 a.m. The meeting
will take place at the Fireside Inn & Suites in West
Lebanon, New Hampshire for the following purposes:
1) To hear reports of the Secretary and Treasurer;
2) To hear the report of the Finance Committee; 3) To
hear reports of the Membership Committee; 4) To
hear the report of the Breed Promotion/Show Committee; 5) To hear the report of the Youth Committee;
6) To hear the report of the Nominating Committee;
7) To hear reports of Holstein USA and national convention; and 8) To transact any other business to
come before the association.

on Friday, October 24, 2014 beginning at 8:00 p.m.

We have an exciting weekend planned
for the 2014 New England Holstein Convention. This year’s meeting and competitons will
be held in West Lebanon, NH at the Fireside
Inn and Suites.
We will kick off the weekend with a
bus tour to Quebec, Canada on Friday morning. If you are interested please get your reservations in early and have your PASSPORTS or
ENHANCED DRIVER’S LICENSE in hand.
The Annual Meeting and Junior Competitions
will be held Saturday morning at the hotel and
then we will head to Tullando Farm for a full
afternoon of touring the newly built barn which
includes 8 Robotic Milkers recently installed in
July. A farmer panel discussion on robotics
and a speaker will round out the afternoon followed with a BBQ and awards presentations.
Just a reminder…. If you are interested
in the bus tour, get your registration in early
and please have your PASSPORTS or Enhanced Driver’s License!!!!
Hopefully the weather will cooperate
and we will have a beautiful weekend. See you
all in New Hampshire this October!

Quebec Farm Tours -Please plan to join us on
Friday October 24th as we travel to Canada to see
some of the top herds in Quebec. We will leave
the Fireside Inn in West Lebanon, NH at 7:00am
on a chartered bus. Everyone on the bus MUST
have a valid passport or enhanced license.
Our farm visits will include Lookout Holsteins
and Jerseys, Lesperron Holsteins and Ferme
Roggua.
Lookout Holsteins and Jerseys is a worldrenowned herd located on one of the most gorgeous settings in North America. Callum
McKinven and Kathy Beerwort, along with
daughters Tara, Brooke, and Alana focus
heavily on cow comfort and take great care
of their cows. They are regular exhibitors
at National shows on both sides of the border and describe that as part of their marketing strategy. Callum is an internationally
respected judge who has judged shows all
over the world. He will serve as the judge
for the 2014 International Red and White
Show at World Dairy Expo. Join us at
Lookout and see cows like Lady Rouge and
Lady in Red. A visit to Lookout is one you
won’t soon forget.
Lesperron Holsteins is located in
Bury, Quebec and is home to 140 cows with
a 25,000 lb herd average with 4.0 fat and
3.3 protein. It is a family farm owned by
Lionel, Andre & Marielle Perron, along
with nephews Alexandre Blais and Yves
Fautreux. Croteau Lesperron Unix is one of
their bulls in AI. The Perron’s have daughters of this promising bull to show us. The
herd includes members of elite cow families
such as Barbie, Silk, Delight, Sheen, Crimson, Emily, and Laurie Sheik. They own
about 3500 acres, and crop about 1000 of
those to produce all of their hay, corn silage, corn grain, and cereal.
In Stanstead, Quebec is where we
will find Ferme Roggua, owned by Rachelle
Guay and Raymond, Kevin, and Bryan Favreau. The 110 cow herd counts many high
scored cows that include daughters of
Goldwyn, Sid, Aftershock, Sanchez, and
Damion. A few of their favorites are
Eastside Lewisdale Aspire, a sister to the
famous Eastside Lewisdale Missy; Misty
Springs Sanchez Sabrina EX91 who has
