2014 Parish Picnic
Close to 1,000 parishioners came out for CTK’s annual
Parish Picnic on Saturday, September 27. The event
began under sunny skies with a bilingual Mass on the
GreenSpace, followed by Zorb Soccer, Hamster Ball,
Inflatables and dinner on the green. As the sun dipped,
parishioners enjoyed our very first blacktop concert
featuring Connor Flanagan & Katy Blythe. It was a great
event for all! To see more photos, visit the CTK website.

What is at the center of our beliefs? Is it all about “me?” Is it all about “we?” Or
maybe it’s all about “He?” On Tuesday, October 14 from 7:30-8:30 am in Kenny

blessed by Father John Kieran this
past Saturday. Thanks to all of you
who joined us as we celebrated the

The Rite of Acceptance and Welcome
On Sunday, September 28 we celebrated the Rite of Acceptance and Welcoming
with those who have completed a period of inquiry. These inquirers made a
declaration of intent before the parish community – making them ready to
become catechumens (the unbaptized) and candidates (the baptized) in the RCIA
process of the Catholic Church. As members of the Cathedral family, we
WELCOME them as they go forward on their journey to become members of the
Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil next Spring. Please support them with your
prayers. Go to www.cathedralofchristtheking.org/RCIAPrayer.
Want a Quicker-Picker-Upper?
Better than a morning coffee—come to 6:45 or 8:10 am daily Mass. It’s quiet and

How shall I repay the Lord for his goodness to me?” Psalm 116

ciudadano. (75-77)

WELCOME FROM THE PASTOR AND
CATHEDRAL STAFF
Dear Friends in Christ,
On behalf of Archbishop Wilton Gregory, the Clergy and
staff, I welcome you to the Cathedral of Christ the King. I
hope and pray that you feel welcomed by our parish
community and that your spiritual and pastoral needs will
be met.
We are a very active parish with 5,500 families and over one
hundred ministries. We encourage our members to share
their gifts of time, talent and treasure.
Our mission statement is to “Know, Love and Serve as Jesus
Did”. This is the mission of each disciple of Christ and, if
you are new, I hope and pray that you will join us and be
part of the community of Christ the King. If you are passing
through or visiting the city of Atlanta, I hope you enjoy your
worship experience and please visit us again.
If you would like to know more about our parish, you can
visit our website at www.cathedralofchristtheking.org or
email us.
May we, this day and all the days of our lives, know, love
and serve as Jesus did.
Prayers and Blessings,
Msgr. Frank McNamee, Rector
