W HAT ’ S H APPENING
A Note from Father Alan ..
October is RESPECT LIFE MONTH and also DOMESTIC
VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH. It is the practice of our parish to send a 1.5% tithe of ordinary income each month to a
worth charitable or justice cause. One of these tithes will be
to Someplace Safe, an advocacy and protection organization whose headquarters is right here in downtown Fergus
Falls. They have other locations throughout central and
western Minnesota. Do you know about Someplace Safe?
This is what I have recently found out: Someplace
Safe provides emergency services and support for victims of
violence and their families. They collaborate with systems
professionals to help create safe, healthy communities.
They offer information and resources to individuals and
families utilizing their resources, empowering survivors to live
a violence-free life. You can find out more about them at
www.someplacesalfe.info
On Wednesday, October 22nd, Bishop Ketler will
be here for “Brunch with the Bishop”! Brunch begins at
9:00 a.m. It is free, and if you would like to join us please call
Mary Jo at the office real soon and be prepared to be
invited to contribute to a diocesan, Catholic Education
Endowment Fund. There’s still room, and all are welcome!
Thank you for your generous commitments of TIME,
TALENT, AND TREASURE THIS WEEK!!
God bless your week!
Father Alan

RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION FOR ADULTS
Many people wonder why Catholics do what they do, think
what they think and believe the many mysteries. If you are
one of these people, now is the time to sign up and learn.
You can start and hopefully want to continue and become
Catholic, but you can also come for the first few lessons to
see if this is something you want to do. No pressure will be
given, it is your choice whether to continue or not. Sign up
by calling the parish office at 736-2429. Classes continue
each Sunday after the 10:30 Mass. Thanks, Deacon Chuck
