Bishop Vasquez’s Reflection Question
Gospel Meditation:
This week’s Gospel reminds us to focus on our priorities
because “many are invited but few are chosen.” Sometimes in prayer or at Mass our attention wavers or we can
be easily distracted. Has this ever happened to you? If so,
try to be more aware of this and redirect your thoughts to
prayer or the Mass.

Nicene Creed
Catholic belief is succinctly expressed in the profession of
faith or credo called the Nicene Creed.
"Our profession of faith begins with God, for God is the
First and the Last, the beginning and the end of everything.
The Credo begins with God the Father, for the Father is the
first divine person of the Most Holy Trinity; our Creed begins with the creation of heaven and earth, for creation is
the beginning and the foundation of all God's works."

Trivia Corner
The four evangelists, who wrote the gospels, were each
given a symbol to represent them. What are their
symbols?
Matthew – angel or winged man – genealogy of Jesus
starts this gospel; Mark – lion - voice in the wilderness
like a roar of a lion; Luke – ox – gospel deals with sacrificial aspects of Christ and begins with a temple scene; John
– Eagle – his gaze pierces so far into the mystery of
heaven.
