Before a word is on my tongue, you know it. Wherever I go, you lay your hand upon me. Far beyond our understanding are your thoughts and your ways. Wonderful are your works, mighty God. We praise your holy name! Let us worship God. *HYMN 522 Lord, When I Came Into This Life Land of Rest *All who are able please stand. CALL TO CONFESSION The proof of God’s amazing love is this: While we were sinners Christ died for us. Because we have faith in him, we dare to approach God with confidence. In faith and penitence, let us confess our sin before God and one another. UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION Mighty God, you are Creator of all, yet we confess that we have not served you with the fullness of commitment you deserve. You call, O God, but we fail to listen. You ask us to follow, but we go our own way. You offer us new life, but we tread old, familiar paths that can be empty and barren. In your mercy, loving God, forgive our sin. Replace our waywardness with faithful trust. Renew our spirits by your Spirit. Free our hearts from the grip of sin. Lead us to follow and serve Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.
