Heavenly Father, we know that You confront us face to face too, in those times we do not
reflect the love You give to us. We know that we worry too much about how others see us
instead of who You call us to be. We tend to focus on the negative instead of mirroring
Your joy. We ignore the beauty of those around us instead of seeing your light in all.
Forgive us we pray. Help us to embrace the love You give so we can fully share it.

MISSION MOMENT – October 19: Equipping Church Leaders
Having a well-educated, well-prepared clergy is one of the commitments of The Presbyterian
Church in Canada. Presbyterians Sharing supports three Presbyterian Colleges in Canada:
Knox College in Toronto, St. Andrew’s Hall/Vancouver School of Theology in Vancouver,
and Presbyterian College in Montreal. These colleges equip and nurture future church leaders
who will in turn equip and nurture the people of God to witness faithfully in the world. They
provide a strong theological foundation, build relationships of trust and respect, and prepare
students for ministry in The Presbyterian Church in Canada. Let us pray for our theological
students as they work to become faithful leaders in our churches and for the staff who inspire
and educate them.

Alaskan Courage series. Submerged (rose 510-1) is book one. You will enjoy this suspense
and action filled novel that will keep you turning the pages.

ST. THOMAS YOUTH CHOIR – Next Sunday, October 26, the St. Thomas Youth
Choir and the St. Thomas Children’s Choir will be our musical guests.
SOUPER SUNDAY - Following the Worship Service on Sunday, October 26th please
plan on staying for lunch to support the Youth of our church. Proceeds from this event will go
to the Youth Faith Fund.
It's time for Operation Christmas Child again. Your donations help to brighten the
lives of children in the 3rd World. Boxes are available in the Narthex. The last date to return
them is Sunday, November 16.
THESE DAYS DEVOTIONAL MAGAZINE – This is a daily devotional magazine
published by The Presbyterian Church in Canada, that comes available in regular or large print.
If you are interested in subscribing, please contact the church office before November 15th.

From Jenn’s Desk ~
Registration Forms for our Church School and Weekday Activities will be available on the
bulletin board in the hallway. Please complete one for your child(ren) as soon as possible.
This morning, Westmount’s Canada Youth 2014 participants will be leading the Worship
Service and sharing their experiences.
Souper Sunday & Family Pumpkin Carving is back! Following the Worship Service on
Sunday, October 26th we would like the congregation to join us for a soup lunch with
proceeds going to the Youth Faith Fund. For a donation, you can enjoy a warm bowl of soup
(many varieties will be available), a bun, beverages and desserts. Plan to stay a while longer
and get your Halloween jack-o-lantern ready to go! Pumpkins will be available for purchase at
$2.00 each.
Do you have a fantastic family soup that you'd like to share? Jenn is still looking for soup
chefs to donate a crock pot full of soup. Let Jenn know so we can add yours to the line-up.
Family Flag Football - In combination with Kids' Sports! Westmount is inviting all of our
families, as well as families in our neighbourhood, to gather for an afternoon of no-contact,
family flag football on Sunday, November 2nd at 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Tailgate snacks and
beverages will be available. To volunteer, please contact Jenn.

Today ~ All kids will be staying in the worship service today! Parents of younger tots, please
feel free to visit the nursery if need arises.
Youth News~
Junior Youth (Gr. 1-6) Your next night is FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 7th at 7:00 p.m. -- it's a
combined Youth Baking Blast night!
Senior Youth (Gr.7-12) Be sure to join us on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 24th at 7:00 p.m. for a
"CRE8 Night". All hands on deck as we will be making items for the Children's Room at this
year's Christmas Bazaar.
All Youth Presbytery Volleyball Tournament: Saturday, November 1st at 1:00 p.m. 5:00 p.m. at White Oaks Public School. Cost is $5.00 per player. Afterwards we will be
gathering at Chalmers Presbyterian Church for supper and social. RSVP to Jenn if you are
interested in playing.
