The proof of God’s amazing love is this:
While we were sinners Christ died for us. Because we have faith in him, we dare to
approach God with confidence. In faith and penitence, let us confess our sin before
God and one another.

Mighty God, you are Creator of all, yet we confess that we have not
served you with the fullness of commitment you deserve. You call, O God, but
we fail to listen. You ask us to follow, but we go our own way. You offer us new

through February 5, 2015 as an extended and deepened Sabbath time to listen to God. “Let anyone
who has an ear listen to what the Spirit is saying to the churches.” (Revelation 2:17)
God of cloud by day and fiery pillar by night, open Pastor Jon’s heart and mind as he attends his seminar at the Montreat Conference Center. Let him hear your voice in the hearts and
minds of the presenters and listen to new faith stories from the other participants. Enlarge the circle
here of our brothers and sisters in Christ to catch your Spirit giving us Scriptures to light our pathway

We welcome The Reverend Benjamin George as our guest preacher today. Ben has served as
the pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Minerva, Ohio for three years. He graduated from Princeton
Theological Seminary in 2011, and prior to that was the Youth Advisor at Christ Presbyterian Church in
Canton, Ohio and Director of Camp Wakonda. Currently, in addition to pastoring a church, he is the Parish
Elder for the Carroll Parish, acting as a liaison to Presbytery and a resource to nearby PCUSA congregations. Ben and his wife, Kate, have been married for seven years, and have two delightfully wild children,
Levi (4 yrs.) and Ezekiel (20 mos.). Ben enjoys reading, gardening, geocaching, and playing video games.
